This one is way overrated. I'm in Tampa and not only has my power and water not gone out, my Direct TV hasn't even missed a beat. Having gone through over 30 of these, trust me, the folks in Tampa and above will be fine. Unless, you are dumb and drive out in it, etc.

Well wishes to our neighbors to the south.

    Quoted from DCFAN:

You don't think that big parts of Tampa will be flooded when the water surges back after being drawn out?

Oh, I'm not saying there will not be effects from the storm. But, I don't think the flooding will be "catastrophic" in Tampa.

Recent local news broadcast in Naples:

“Oh NOOOOOO!!! The Horror...look at this boat over here under water.”

Camera pans left, and the boat is a 10 foot John Boat.

    Quoted from o-din:

The big difference between a hurricane and an earthquake is we don't get no warning. Except maybe a dog barking.

We get a couple of dogs barking, 8 days of media coverage, and we're still too stupid to leave. Ahhh, the days of hanging chads seemed so good.
