Quoted from mikepin:I provided many of the numbers used when I did my book I had connections in the industry which gave them to me The williams numbers were given to be by STEVE KORDEK who worked there from like 61 to the end He personally wrote them down after every model Other brands were obtained from VERY reliable people in the industry mike pacak
Thanks for the insight ! Jive Time has me scratching my head, though. The 15 serial numbers submitted to IPSND range from 60652 to 68658. That leaves 8006 machines - which obviously isn't correct. So, why did Williams skip sets of numbers in the production sequence ? If you were to throw out the top two and bottom two numbers of the 15 shown, that still leaves a range of 1,850 potential serial numbers. Any thoughts on their numbering logic ?
Lastly, what was the purpose of even having a serial number on a game, especially if they weren't going to be used for production number keeping ?
Thanks - Mark
