Have to bust some balls here.....that asking price is NUTS!

#3 3 years ago

Especially when this playfield is on CPR's pre-order list for remake.

#4 3 years ago

Last one I saw for sale was over a year ago and sold for 2k right here. No balls were busted in that sale. If you want to wait 3 years for CPR to maybe do one, that's fine. If you're interested make an offer. Not for the "Yeah I'd like another one to hang on the wall" guy. For someone that really wants to restore a game.

AND, if that playfield is in true IPB fashion, it will need to be properly clearcoated.

Normally I don't go out of my way to make comments like this on a FS thread, but I feel like in this case with the asking price and hyping up the clear, it's warranted...

The picture with the 80k and Colossal Bonus at the bottom, where there's a clear reflection of a light... it looks wavy, like the clear is off. And it kind of looks that way on the last pic where the reflection is over the snake. You may want to take another picture with the pf laying flat on a table at like a 30 degree angle or so to give people a better idea about the quality of this clear. I have no clue who Larry is, but your pictures don't really highlight something you're pimping out as a great clearcoat, and if you're asking ANYONE to pay 2400 bucks for a playfield that's not extensively customized...it would be a good thing to do to highlight that, IMO.

Thanks, I'll do that. I've had this thing probably 8 years and forgot it had even been re cleared.

I didn't think the price was THAT high when a 40 year old NOS playfield went for $1900 last year, and for how rarely these actually come up for sale. Maybe I'm wrong....

Fully aware of Larry, he and I have done some horse trading. Oh, and by the way, that was me who was chronicled in the other 3 pages.

The fact that the playfield has been cleared makes it worth more......but not 2X's the value.

I don't really think you can compare NOS to repro. Some purists are always going to prefer NOS, and they'll pay through the teeth for it......and then go clear it, which defeated the whole point of it being NOS, IMO. /shrug People are wierd.

Oh, well then you do nice work too!

If someone wants to make an offer, please do. I won't be offended. I basically did a search and hadn't seen a listing in over a year, and went off that price/playfield. Not trying to retire off this thing.

Hey, has anyone seen that AFM that was listed at 15k??? (See what I did there? Lol)
