Quoted from Scoot:

I ordered one for my bop but considering moving it to my funhouse. Will the harness and instructions be the same?

I just installed one in my Funhouse and was thinking about ordering another for my BOP!

Hello pinballinreno,
Yes Dr. Who is currently supported. You can find it under the WPC kit and at the following link:
http://www.pinshakers.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=50
We are just about caught up with all of the pre-orders and will start having a positive stock of kits available in the next few days.
Best Regards,
Robert Goebel

If not available direct from Pinshakers, we are an authorized distributor and have kits available for wpc/wpc95 and stern SAM/Whitestar games, same price ready to ship, same level of support and service.

Quoted from robgo777:

Thanks for the interest and the questions.
We are currently in the process of testing the shaker motor with magnets and other motors etc. We will update everyone with the results.
One thing to keep in mind, is that our program is designed with a fail safe mechanism. The program requires that a full "pulse" (on and then off) be completed prior to the motor running. With that being said, in the case of using a magnet as the trigger, one would have to understand that magnets sometimes come on and stay on for a few seconds while they hold the ball etc. So if that were to happen, the motor would simply wait until the magnet turns off before it began shaking.

Maybe a separate board that has no fail safe that taps into a splitter to the shaker motor?
But then again, I wonder just how well it would actually work in a scenario when the magnets engage and then invoking another item that also uses the shaker motor. Honestly, without this motor being controlled by code (no offense meant) the only thing I can see as a viable solution workaround for titles with magnets would be to run a second shaker specifically dedicated to the magnets. While not ideal I would certainly think it would work. Wiilling to be a tester if you need one for this title.

Actually, the motor is controlled by a pretty sophisticated code that is programmed onto the PIC chip on the motor driver board.

We are currently working with our programmer to see if we can change the code to work better with things like magnets that come on and stay on for several seconds. We are working to do this so that the motor will trigger as soon as the magnet is energized, not once the magnet has energized and then turned back off. There are going to be a lot of coding changes needed to do this and to also make sure there is still a fail safe in place to keep the motor from running continuously if one of the triggers comes on and stays on.

We will post an update here once we have our results on this change.

Hi Shredso,
I am glad you are enjoying your kit. If you wanted to mix triggers between harnesses "A" and "B" then yes that would require a custom harness. Please send me a message with your order number as well as which triggers you want and I will make one for you and send it out next week.

Considering getting one for my FH. How much would the custom harness cost? Can this be done with other games? It would be cool to have the Love Never Dies flasher (harness b) go off with harness a in BSD.

Isn't that Dip 6, Harness B, Speaker Pnl Flashers ?

You are correct. Edited my post .

I decided to put a pinshaker into my Bride of Pinbot. Wow, I fricken love it. I love the adjustable rumble, from a soft purring to a bucking bronco, I have dialed it in just right. I must have messed with the different dip switch combinations for at least an hour, trying to determine the best rumble features for me and came up with the best one, “left ramp flasher”. It’s only one switch but it just feels so good. I am very happy with this purchase and it looks like I’ll have to consider one for my Funhouse now too.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us so far and who has purchased a kit. We are thrilled to hear all of the positive feedback from each and every one of you.

We have a few announcements to make, as well as to update you on what we are currently working on to improve the kits.

1. We would like to welcome Lermods as our first retailer. They have kits in stock as we speak, so check them out!

2. We are all caught up on the pre-orders with the exception of a few Sys 11 pre-orders. The Sys 11 adapters are set to arrive tomorrow so they will be shipping out this week. We have a positive stock on everything else needed for the rest of the machines that are supported.

3. The Stern Whitestar lineup of machines has completed beta testing and is now available for purchase. Below you will see the current complete list of all of the machines that are compatible with our shaker motor kits. The next step is to work on the Sega/Data East lineup, Capcom, and then Gottlieb. We have also gotten several requests for kits to go into machines from the newer manufacturers such as JJP, American Pinball, and the latest lineup from Stern. We do plan to develop kits for the newer generation of machines as well, so stay tuned.

4. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully tested each and every solenoid type, and have updated the dip switch settings accordingly. Now there are very few "Do Not Use" positions left in the dip switch tables. You will now see new triggers that can be used such as magnets, VUKs, diverters, drop targets, and motors. Just about anything you find on the solenoid table in the user manual can be used, even the high power solenoids. We will be releasing additional connection adapters to accommodate additional connectors on the power driver board soon.

5. Speaking of connection adapters, if you haven't noticed we have developed an entirely new way to interface with the power driver board. We are discontinuing the use of the wire bundles and "Z" adapters and have moved toward using custom made small adapter boards. These boards easily plug into the existing power driver board connections and have an output connection to our motor driver board via a Cat5 cable. These new harnesses are much easier to work with and present a cleaner and more professional look to the installation.

6. We will be attending the White Rose Gameroom show next month. We will have two indoor booths set up and will have kits available for purchase there at the show. We will also have at least one machine set up with our shaker kit for you to play with and test out for yourself. There will be a show special going on where any kit purchased at the show, or purchased ahead of time, will come with free installation there at the show. We can come to your machine out on the free play floor or you can bring it to us there at our booth. We are really looking forward to meeting you at the show!

7. While we will not be at Expo, we will be there in spirit. We will be donating a special one of a kind kit to the charity auction for the Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. The proceeds from the sale of the kit at that auction will go towards putting a machine in the hospital for the children there. If you will be at Expo this year, we highly recommend you check out this auction and support the cause.

Again, thank you so much for all who have supported so far and who plan to support us. We will continue to work hard at improving these shaker motor kits for you.

Hi arcademojo,

Yes we will be arriving Thursday night or Friday morning and will have a vendor booth there for both days. We will be running a show special in that I will install the kit into your machine for free at the show. We will have room in our vendor booth for your machine, or I can install it out on the free play floor or in your own vendor booth.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks to robgo777 for the install of his Pinshaker on my Space Shuttle. First system 9 running with the Pinshaker. Everything has been running fine with it. It’s set up at the York pinball show in the free play area.

These things are out of stock everywhere!

Just installed mine on the shadow. Love it! However, the directions are not crystal clear. There was a few times I had to just “figure it out”. The instructions should be more in-depth so someone at any skill level can put them together. It took me while to get everything hooked up and running. It was well worth it!

Yes, it is great in shadow. I have to disagree on the instructions. They are very well done and the process is super easy and fast once you get the shaker mounted. My first install took about 30 minutes and then installed another on potc and it only took about 20 minutes.

#171 4 years ago

Just picked up an AFM original today, so can't wait for these to get back in stock to order one!

Can you elaborate what you had problems with? That would help them. Thought they were pretty easy to understand myself.

#173 4 years ago

I’m fairly new in the hobby and all the steps were not clearly spelled out. I had to guess a couple times on what connectors went where. Also, my instructions were labeled wrong on which connectors you needed to plug into on the machine. Once again, I just “figured it out” on my own. The pictures in the instructions show many of the connectors already put together. As a newbie, step by step instructions are crucial (with photos). However, once everything was put together and working, WOW, what a difference! Shadow really comes to life!

I though the directions were great. I wonder if you read the wrong set? WPC-89 vs 95?

Would like to know if it's possible to change the shaker kit from one pinball machine to another of the same model range. f.e Attack from Mars WPC95 <-> Cirqus Voltair WPC95.

yes it is, as long as the power connection is the same, and it should be for AFM and CV.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delayed response, been pretty busy lately with work. We are expecting the kits to be back in stock next week. They were supposed to be here this week but we had an issue with the manufacturer ordering the wrong components. We will make an announcement when they are so you don't have to keep checking the site.

Jimmyhonda Sorry your instructions were not clear enough. That first kit you ordered was from our initial line-up, prior to the cat5 adapters. We have made a lot of improvements to the instructions since then, hopefully the kit you just ordered for your Whirlwind will be easier to follow. As always though if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call/text/email me and I will be happy to walk you through it.

OlDirty You can absolutely swap the kits from machine to machine. Like Rob from Lermods pointed out, only difference is going to be possibly the power supply adapter and the cat5 adapters. If you are going from a WPC-95 machine to another one, then they will be identical. You will want to download the dip switch settings however for the CV, you can find those on our site and at the bottom of each page there is a link for them.

Thanks everyone who has messaged me and is patiently waiting for the kits to be back in stock. We really appreciate the support.

Robert Goebel

Rob-

Can you please enable your Website to accept backorders? Its quite a pain to visit every day- go through the process of loading the cart only to find out there is no stock and I cannot place the order with you filling it later once stock arrives. Sorry- Rob- It's a pain. Thanks

Not on his web site yet but sure it will come out soon. He recently sent me the new system 9 power cord to test my Space Shuttle. So guessing it's just a matter of time before he produces it. FYI it's been working great.

FYI it's been working great.

That was my next question wondering if it would rattle some of the fillings loose on this old machine

Didn’t rattle anything loose on my SS. The one I put in a Stern POTC did rattle a few things loose at first.

If she cant get it in time and have it wrapped under the tree, she is going to want other ideas from me, and I don't have other (reasonably affordable) ideas... lol

Greetings everyone, and Happy Cyber Monday!

We thank you for your patience. The kits weren't merely out of stock, we have actually upgraded them into a whole new version!

Introducing the version 2 Pinshakers kits!

We now have two iterations to choose from, a Standard and a Premium.

The Standard kits are similar to what we had in the previous version, with several upgrades:

- Two Harness Adapter Inputs for a total of 16 triggers (No more "Custom" harnesses needed!)
- Upgraded Microchip & Programming Code (Now optimized for magnets and motors)

The Premium kits are a completely new product. They come with a new type of power supply, a 13amp ATX Slimline power supply. This power supply plugs directly into your service port! The power supply does not turn on until you turn on your pinball machine, so there is no need to unplug the power supply when you are done playing. The premium motor board is attached to the ATX power supply and turns it on via an electronic switch circuit built in, everything is automatic. In addition to the new power supply, the Premium kit adds the following features:

- Three Harness Adapter Inputs for a total of 24 triggers (Now supporting a new harness "C" adapter for most generations)
- Upgraded Microchip and Programming Code (Now optimized for magnets and motors)
- All new 12vdc Interactive Auxiliary Power Output (Make your lighted mods interactive with game play!)
- 2 additional steady regulated 5vdc & 12vdc power outputs (For additional mods, ColorDMD etc.)

With the new microchip and programming code, we have fine tuned everything to work seamlessly with magnet and motor triggers. The shaker motor will now activate as soon as a magnet or motor turns on, making for a much more immersive experience with machines that have these components.

We are finalizing the "C" harness dip switch settings and will be updating those shortly. We are also in the process of upgrading all of the installation guides and videos for the new versions.

Also, we are no longer offering the kits for sale directly through our website. We have established a retailer agreement with one of the largest and most popular pinball parts suppliers in the world. The new version 2 kits are shipping out to them as we speak and will be available for sale very soon. As soon as our new exclusive retailer has the kits listed for sale on their website, we will announce who they are. Trust us though, you will be very excited to find out who it is!

We will continue to attend some of the popular trade shows however and will bring our kits there for you to test out and purchase directly from us. Our next show is going to be Pinfest in Allentown.

Pricing - Unfortunately all these new features come at an additional cost to manufacture. As such, you will see increases in the prices of the kits. Even though the prices are increasing, we believe the new kits are still a bargain for what you are getting.

Upgrades - As promised we are going to honor our upgrade program for the new Standard version boards. Send us your version 1 motor board and a $50 upgrade fee and we will send you the new Standard version motor board. There is a new category in our online store called "Upgrades". There is where you can go in order to purchase an upgrade. All upgrades will go directly through us, our retailer will not be handling any board upgrades. We do have the boards set aside and are ready to ship now for anyone who wants to upgrade their older version. We apologize but we are not offering an upgrade for the Premium boards at this time.

Lermods will no longer carry our Pinshakers shaker motor kits. We thank them for all of their support and will look forward to collaborating with them in the future on how to best improve the kits.

One last surprise... we now offer support for System 7 & 9 era pinball machines! Our retailer won't have the System 7 kits with this first batch, but they will be getting those shortly after. Visit our site at http://www.pinshakers.com for a full list of compatible machines.

We hope you are as excited about the new version 2 kits as we are! Please be patient as we continue on with this transition. We promise our new retailer will have the kits ready for you just as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Robert Goebel

I sense a out of stock in 24 hours no matter who the vendor is this is going to eat up some reaming pinball money that somehow survived the back friday rush of the vendors. :party:The only correct answer at this point how many and how much.

You need to at least leak cost.

There is games list up on there page now.
