I got an rfm a couple of weeks ago. It has always had issues with the vuk which happened in shipping. I thought it was a coil because it shows up as bad in the test menu. I replaced the coil and had the same problem. I thought it might because the connector on the coil because they did not solder them on pin2000 machines. I soldered the connection and still have the problem. When the playfield is level or installed in the cabinet, the vuk or popper coil stops working. Once I elevate the playfield, the coil starts working again. Lower it and it stops. I don't see any loose wires and I don't see anything shifting as the playfield elevates. Thanks for any help you have to offer.

Thanks for the responses. The opto in the vuk is wpRking. The wires under the playfield do seem to be tight. They are in the factory bundles connected to the playfield. Should I cut them loose? Any other diagnostic techniques to chase down this wire issue?

Thank you for all the responses. A cool local tech fixed it for me. He traced the wire from the coil and realized it was pulling the Pin out of the connector. Once the pin was reseated, everything worked great. Great game!
