It seems that I have an issue with the "Bank Shot" being detected whenever the ball rolls over the "B" lane at the top of the playfield. This seems to happen on in the first 20 minutes or so of operation, and more frequently when the machine hasn't been used for a while.

Basically if the ball rolls over the "B" lane, the machine says "Nice Bank Shot" and you get credit as you would for a bank shot.
I'm trying to determine if this is mechanical (like a switch issue or short) or if it's related to an electronic component.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply but the switch is working. The problem is it is working when the ball rolls over a different switch too. Hopefully that explains better.

Thanks for the detailed info. Its done it since I've owned the machine, but usually only shows up after i havent used the machine for a while. It had been several weeks and yesterday it took about and hour for the issue to dissapear.

If cutting the cap lead fixes it, should i replace the cap?

Great advice, thank you!

Cutting the cap lead definitely solved the issue. I have 20 new caps on the way so I can replace it!

Thanks again for the great advice - I'm quickly becoming a big fan of this forum!

Good stuff!! Enjoy your Eight Ball Deluxe--that's a game I *will* add to my collection one day. Such an awesome game!

Yeah, this is my third one. I keep them for a while then sell them, but eventually decide I need another one! Now that I've fixed a few "quirks", this seems to be the best playing one I've owned.

My other favorite is Stern Seawitch (I've owned 2 of those), but they've really gone up in price since I sold my last one a few years ago!

Well, if you ever decide to sell this one, please let me know!

Will do!

Quoted from BigAl56:

Check your coin switches, I'll bet one of them is stuck. Looking at the switch matrix, you have to pencil in the coin switches which are not shown because they are on the cabinet schematic but are still part of the matrix, If you have a stuck coin switch and you knock down the matching 1,2, or 3 drop target, rolling over the B rollover will give you the bank shot.

Thanks for the help, but it was definitely the cap on the bank shot switch. I cut it a couple of days ago and replaced it this am. The problem is gone!
