Quoted from ls1chris:A little bot OT but anyone of u pin2000 guys know if I could swap the Cyrix 5X86 with a Cyrix 6X86 processor?
Generally speaking with pc hardware you can install a faster processor within the same generation. So a motherboard that accepts a Pentium 90 will likely accept a Pentium 100. It really comes down to the individual motherboard. However, it won't accept a Pentium 2 - in fact the pinouts are totally different.
Quick googling shows the Cyrix processor in question comes in 120, 133 and 150 varieties. Not sure what's actually in P2000, though.
