Just bought Sega from Bed, Bath and Beyond for 39.99
I was going to ask if the INTV comes with overlays and it looks like the answer is yes! Pretty awesome. I still have a huge stack of originals from various games.

Well, they do know who the people are who are actually shopping in the toy section online. LOL

You were likely looking for whiskey sometime in your recent browsing past and got a cookie kernel. Much of the ads online now are content relevant to the person browsing. If vid1900 went to Target the ad displayed would likely be Ashley Madison.
good point, thats funny.
now i'm wondering what i've been browsing around in the past to match to a whiskey ad

Speaking of Ashley Madison. I love the commercial they play for that. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

I Googled that.
Thanks.
Now it's in my auto complete.....
all this makes me want to drag out the C64 and the 1500 or so games I still have for it....that was great gaming....
I hate the fact that I remember stuff like this:
Colecovision was $199 at retail when it first came out.
Genesis was $189 at retail when it first came out.
Intellivision was $249 for the regular version and $299 for the SEARS' version when it first debuted.

It is a little scary that $299 in 1978 is equivalent to $1092 in today's dollars. Also, take into account of the fact that the economy sucked balls during the late 70s and early 80s. The intellivision when compared to the 2600 was pretty bad ass though. The only thing that I thought was better about the 2600 was that it had a larger library.

I can't say for sure. Here's a pic of it lit up. I traded some games for it.

Quoted from MinusWorlds:From that list the Genesis is the best bet. But, for real retro gaming nothing beats an actual NES or SNES. I'm the owner of this bad boy and buying, selling and trading NES and SNES games paid for my first pin.

That's very cool
|bought a new Colecovision as a kid and was over the moon. Everybody had the Atari so this one really stood out. The Donkey Kong version was the best available, to bad it isn't on this one. Though you can use an original cartridge I believe?
Recently I bought a Colecovision through Marktplaats (Dutch Ebay) with the Atari adapter, the steering wheel and 2 joysticks plus alle the games I wanted. Mouse Trap, Donkey Kong, Zaxxon, Smurf, Turbo, DK jr. Space Fury, Space Panic, Lady Bug.
Have to admit it's great to own it but playing it isn't as much fun as I remember.
Picked up the Sega over the weekend.
Some cool games on there.
Haven't seen a few before. Comix Zone looks pretty good. So does Ooze.
Thanks Vid. I would not have know about this otherwise.
Anybody remember this Intellivision Infomercial. I remember them playing it in the Intellivision displays at the department stores back in 1979.

"And forget old straight line joystick type controllers for all time."
Quoted from Det_Deckard:My earliest video game memory was playing a biplane game on the intellivision with my dad. He had beaten me over and over and over. I finally was ahead one game and I thought I had the game bagged and then he beat me but blowing up my plane and hot air balloon in the same pass just before the game ended. Being 6, I cried over losing in such a unlucky sort of way. My dad's response to that was "Jesus likes gracious losers". My reply was "I don't want to be a loser". From then on, it was kind an inhouse joke you would tell someone when they were ungracious over losing a game.
Are these preloaded stand alones or can they take cartridges too?
Dude - that game was called 'Triple Action' - it had the biplane game, a car game, and a tank game. there was one option for the game of long range or short range bullets. My brother and I also played that game all the time. Loved that game.

LOL. We all now that those old straight line joystick controllers didn't go over !!!!
Quoted from CaptainNeo:that is pretty damn awesome. Never seen anything like it.
Here are some more custom NES systems done by the same guy. Some pretty insane, and expensive stuff and he's a nice guy too...

If anyone wants a Colecovision or Intellivision, they have them at DG for $20 each. And free shipping if you spend $40 and don't want to drive for one...:

Quoted from HeyNow:I wish they had HDMI output. I'd be tempted to get the Intellivision if it had Sea Battle on it.
the intellivision flashback does have sea battle on it
...
- Royal Dealer
- Sea Battle
- Shark! Shark!

Sea Battle is THE BEST!!! Ain't nothing like having an opponent unexpectedly run into a mine and blow up!
Utopia is also a very cool game.
All sports games are iconic on Intellivision.
The buying public has spoken:
Intellivision - out of stock
colecovision - available
Atari - out of stock
Quoted from vid1900:On the Atari version of the Flashback, one wire had to be moved to make it compatible.
Don't know on Colecovision.
On the Atari Flashback 5, they fixed the wiring. Regular controllers work just fine.
