I got all the inserts on the underside in and I'll do the top side this weekend. Essentially I went through a couple of bolts. It was only like $2 or so. I'll probably get a few more for the top side. The tee nuts aren't completely flat but will get pulled in the rest of the way when I assemble stuff from the top.
Use the black allen bolts and a hex wrench for your t-nut installer setup.
Get fender washers with small holes in them.
Use a couple layers of stick on felt or velcro wool for an insulator.
