Insert LEDs in Special Force lock on

Trying to put insert LEDs in a Bally Special Force, but they stay locked on. Behave normally with incandescent bulbs. Are the driver boards in these games incompatible with LEDs?

Thanks for the thread link, that's awesome. In my case, the game plays fine and the incandescent bulbs in the inserts work fine, but the LEDs I'm trying stay locked on. No problem with the game that I can tell. However, that thread does indicate it can be done. I'll try some other LEDs (Cointaker, etc.) and see if they work.
