Hi,

I am having an interesting think happen with my Mata Hari. This just started happening. The 4k bonus lamp starts off unlit. Once it is lit it remains lit until the next ball. It seems to happen when the 2x bonus (and 3x and 5 x) has been achieved and then it stays lit. When no bonus multiplier is lit the lamp behaves normally.

I swapped out the SCR that controls that lamp before I noticed the pattern with the multiplier and it still happens so I am not sure where to look next. Any ideas? Connector issue?

Quoted from QuietEarp:

The only lamp on the playfield I see that comes on when either 2X, 3X or 5X is lit, is the left outlane 50,000 lamp. So somehow that 4k bonus lamp must be shorted to it.

At the lamp driver board on J3:
J3 pin 1 is the 4k bonus lamp (red wire)
J3 pin 2 is the left outlane 50,000 lamp (grey-white wire)

Since the pins are next to each other you might gave a solder bridge across both pins on the back of the lamp driver board. Can you check it? Or did the two wires accidentally get swapped around at that J3 connector during a re-pin?

Quench, you are amazing as always. I hadn't noticed the relation of the bonus multiplier until I was typing my post out. Of course the left outlane lamp was lit when the multiplier had been acheived! I pulled the board out and there was a solder blob making contact with the trace for J3 pin 2 from pin 1. Problem solved and it makes total sense.

Thank you again for what you do!
