So I just gave a couple of auto manufacturers to get the topic going but obviously I could have also added Acura/Honda, Audi/VW, etc.

The question is this. Why do you buy the luxury version of a car as opposed to the luxury version of a pinball machine? Which automakers/pinball manufacturers do you feel make it worth it to purchase the premium version of the car/pinball machine and which automakers/pinball manufacturers do you feel could do a better job in differentiating the two?

I have owned Acuras in the past and always felt some of the Hondas were equal or if not better. However, with Infinity/Nissan my experience has been exactly the opposite.
