    So I just gave a couple of auto manufacturers to get the topic going but obviously I could have also added Acura/Honda, Audi/VW, etc.

    The question is this. Why do you buy the luxury version of a car as opposed to the luxury version of a pinball machine? Which automakers/pinball manufacturers do you feel make it worth it to purchase the premium version of the car/pinball machine and which automakers/pinball manufacturers do you feel could do a better job in differentiating the two?

    I have owned Acuras in the past and always felt some of the Hondas were equal or if not better. However, with Infinity/Nissan my experience has been exactly the opposite.

    I drive an LE to impress the ladies. They don't give a shit if my pinball machine is a limited edition or not.

    Nothing even comes close to Lexus fit and finish, nothing. But Acura comes as close as anyone will get, and they're more fun to drive.
    Oh boy I hope Levi sees this thread. He loves this analogy!

    Williams= Ford

    To who? I ran out of cars man.

    Mr. Bally just spun in his pinball coffin.

    OK then

    Bally=Audi

    I had a Williams limited edition once.

    Chevy=Dutch Pinball....sometimes they work, will need more service than any other you've owned, and also gonna need a large cash bailout from taxpayers to stay afloat.

    So maybe Stern should equal Ford then?

    Why is that trend so big with the Japanese auto makers? BMW and Mercedes have always been luxury brands but they don’t create separate brands to appeal to a lower class market. I’ve always wondered why.

    Oh, the luxury!

    Williams - Pontiac.
    Bally - Oldsmobile.
    Gottlieb- Cadillac.
    Chicago Coin - Dodge.
    JJP - Peirce Arrow.
    Stern - Chevy.

    You do know Pontiac and Olds are more reliable and last longer than Cadillacs don't you?

    Thinking of the 1960s and pre 1972, not from the 1980's decade, of cargument slash pinball discussion.

    Using just American car companies as a reference. Couldn't really fit in Packard, Stutz, Lincoln, or Auburn.

    I can live with that. I tend to take fun over luxury anyway.

    That's a BMW there....

    Barbarian Motor Works

    And maybe we haven't been giving Chicago Coin enough credit.

    Well, o-din you had Chicago Coin as 'All Makes Combined', it could be worse, 'International Harvester'.

    It's Infiniti, not Infinity unless you are talking about speakers

    As for car version comparison, you should be talking in terms of trim level. Not luxury and regular vehicle brands

    i.e Toyota L, LE, SE or Mazda Sport, Touring, Grand Touring or Infiniti Base, Premium, Signature
