Well I have joined the club ...
Picking up my game a week Saturday
Any one have a pick of the light board behind the translight?
Next question light board or tub ?
Looking forward to reading the thread from the beginning and looking forward to picking up the pin ...

#1566 2 years ago

Woohòoo ... no tub !

Thanks #mollyspub

First game I've seen with no flashers ...

Quoted from gunstarhero:

when you hit the LEFT RAMP MADE (36) switch it also counts as a LEFT LIGHT UP (56)

Short... check your switch matrix ..
Something shorting out...

Started the tear down and major clean.. overall game is in really great shape... According to IPDB the early production games came with the purple on the bottom then changed to a lighter blue, can someone confirm or is mine just the standard playfield..

Complete tear down , check all assembilies , change all the coil sleeves, regrain the metal redo the pop bumpers and all flippers.
Minor wear by the VUK so Cliffy protector ordered. Lightly sand in cabinet interior, clean all plastics and wire forms, tidy up the wiring ... Could go on ...
Oh clean playfield and put on 3 coats of pure wax. Couple of places where the ball hits the playfield will be Mylar covered..
And its Rob ...

#1580 1 year ago

Lastly will change all the hardware nuts ect to black oxcide screws bolts and locknuts

Quoted from mollyspub:

playing around with a one way gate to resolve the issue.

Sweet

#1583 1 year ago

Got this far today, still have the flippers and pop bumpers and couple of posts to go...
Then comes the underside

Hate re-doing pop bumpers but the skirts had to be done.
Body color change while re-doing them .
Almost there.. all plastic posts removed cleaned and replaced where needed

Pop bumpers back in .. was minor wear at the turbo VUK , so put cliffy there to stop any more damage..
The coats of pure wax made this playfield like a sheet of glass..

Do you have the gate for the upper saucer

Yes I do ....

#1598 1 year ago

The spring that in the 3 target banks with the 4 lights ...
Any idea of a part number ?
Have one that's pretty well done ?

#1600 1 year ago
Quoted from Driz1847:

Could you please take a few really close pictures

Have some metal still to clean I remember taking one off there so should be in the pile...
Will be back at it this weekend

#1601 1 year ago

As a couple of the housing for the targets were broken changed them out to purple.. my targets were supported by really ugly cotter pins so I got rid of those. Also went with the orange targets, any one installing these please note to paint the tips black so the beam is interrupted.

Quoted from Schwaggs:

I just ran across this "mod" in the pinside shop and thought I would post it here, just in case some club members are in need. I thought it looked like a cool idea and a reasonably priced fix for your standup targets that have broken interrupters!

Replacements also available at Pinball Spare parts Australia in 2 colors !

Quoted from mollyspub:

Depends on your definition of good condition.
Your most likely looking at 5 to 6k in today’s market. Not too many Indy’s out there in ( good condition)

Mines in super condition, make me an offer...

#1636 1 year ago
Quoted from mollyspub:

Yeah right! Did we ever see the end result after you shopped it out?

Will take some better ones over the weekend...
The restore wasn't really a restore just a complete teardown and deep clean , redid the jets no wear on the playfield.
The turbohole hole had a slight scuffing on outline. Put a cliffy on it although he said wasn't needed...
The restore would be the Earthshaker I'm doing ...

It does seem clear that the community here generally loves them.

I would start a seperate thread to confirm this statement...
Thinking you may be surprised!

Quoted from Duster72:

If anyone else is interested please shoot me a PM and LMK how much you might be willing to pitch in towards the project. Thanks!

I would be interested in the translight , but like to see what he draws before committing to the project. The side art is already in my my pin when I bought it so unless its something amazing I would be out on that !

Quoted from G35R6:

Has anybody had the “guts” to cut those off

. Took the original 4 off and installed 2 spots with comet LEDs bright enough

perhaps a ceramic coating would be thinner and not cause ball hang ups?
personally don't see the need to colour wire forms !

Hidden Easter Egg ... they all have them

#1674 1 year ago

My Indy 500 was sold to Arkadium here in Edmonton, gone to a new home were it can be enjoyed..

Quoted from mollyspub:

You did what???

I know ... they started wanting it before I even did the 16 hour drive to get it.
Going to be a tough game for Yegpin tournament play.
