I'm on my 3rd Indy 500 and finally found a great example for my collection. Early on playing the game, I knew it was a keeper for our family, especially since we live 20 minutes away from the racetrack and are familiar with all details of the race which are embedded in the game.

The real voice calls of Paul Page, Bobby Unser, and Tom Carnegie add realism to the great, fast game play.

It is fun to go for a high score, most laps, or race position.....it's like 3 games in one.

Quoted from GoneFishinLvMsg:

It was a nice one with a full red cab.

Anyone have info on how many of the 2249 Indy 500s:

-- were full red cabinets?
-- were gradient red to orange cabinets?

How are you enjoying your "new" Indy 500 Jesse?

Really enjoying except one minor switch error that I am having trouble tracking down. The game will randomly score 25,000 pts and make the racing sound a couple times a minute or sometimes more (same score/sound as made by the pops). I might need some help tracking the source of the problem from one of my Indy friends or I'll wait until Rob Anthony travels through town to get it fixed.

Quoted from indypinhead:

Have you looked at your pop bumper switches? They might be set a bit too sensitive.

T- Tried adjusting these and did not make any difference, although, I have not adjusted the pops on pins very often.

Quoted from Pacer:

I can stop by sometime if you don't have luck tracking it down.

R- Thanks, I send you a PM. How did the cabinet refinishing on the Indy 500 turn out?

looks awesome, how many hours did the project take?

Quoted from gweempose:

I accomplished all the major goals. I started all the modes, scored a victory lap, hit a super jackpot during multiball, completed the race (200 laps), and then hit another victory lap.

Did you finish in position #1 as well, that would be an awesome accomplishment!

Congrats, the machine looks great and sold to a true racer!

Quoted from swedishc:

Up next I am going to write all new rules for the game in Python. The game already has great gameplay, so am no expecting to make anything close to what Dennis Nordman originally designed. Should be a fun challenge regardless!

sounds very interesting, keep the group updated on your progress
