Indianapolis 500 Bally, 1995

Hi everyone,

I have a strange problem on my indi500, It's impossibe to lock balls for multiball because the pin does not recognise when a ball is locked in the turbo...
But, in the turbo test mode, both optos that are mounted on turbo are good and detected.
At begining, I thought it could be a problem from the ball throught assembly, but each of the 5 optos are good, each balls is detected.
I change the opto board, just to see, but nothing happened...
I checked the optos voltage and there is 13v when working...
So I am running out of ideas in this case... if you have any suggestions.... Thank you.

I had a problem as well with my turbo lock ball, but it may be a different problem all together. Will share it just in case there is something useful to you or someone else in the future. Mine was intermittent and did register a switch error. In turbo test mode it would often clear. I, too, checked optos and the optoboard. What I ultimately found was that the nut that secures the turbo impeller in place was lacking an anti-slip washer. Once installed, I have never had a problem since.

I had similar issues and I pulled out the board,reflowed all the solder on the board and replaced the opto.
Problem gone.

Thanks for your feedback. I have ordered a new pair of optos and I will check the solder on the board . I cross the fingers.
