Hoping for some help with my IJ POA. It has been running very average since i purchased so i replaced the motor as it was very jerky and sluggish, with new motor installed it runs fine going right but left is still very jerky unsure if i need to replace opto board but seeking advise if anyone has had similar or knows a fix?

Make sure the POA is connected very securely to the motor. I seem to recall there’s an arm which moves the POA around and the nut which locks it can become loose quite easily. Sounds like you replaced the motor but you may want to check that end too

If working good in test (using buttons on coin door) but not during gameplay (using flippers) you may check flipper optos as well.

there is a test for the POA. It sounds like an opto is registering when it shouldnt. the optos are there as a limit indicator to shut off the motor. if it is running and it registers that opto it will stop the motor then the signal stops then the motor moves. does that over and over. Go to the POA test. see if the optos register like that.

Ended up replacing the Opto board for POA movement and is now working a treat. Thanks all that replied to help sort this issue

Same issue, POA works fine in test mode, in game play sluggish or not at all movement.

Would this be a direct replacement for the optos on POA switch?
