Maybe a few more posts/pics of the idol ruins in the IJ owners club thread might help??
Hey Lior,
I know this isn't a great option because it requires a fair bit of investment... but given the short timeframe, it might be worth looking at.
I used to make small mods. Nothing even close to this scale, but I tried to make them in bulk and was mostly concerned with first getting enough orders to cover my costs. Profit came later. Once the first few were delivered, I sarted getting more and more orders as people started seeing them in their friend's games and others eventually found my mod simply by seeing pictures posted on Pinside and other forums.
In the following weeks after my first batch went out, I finally started to see profit and the remaining units eventually sold out fairly quickly and I had to produce another run.
So, maybe, if you can manage to cover all your material costs with the 26 orders you already have, it might be worth just making the other 14 and selling them after the first ones get delivered and the word of mouth and ensuing thread posts begin to spread.
Maybe it's too much to expect the community to jump in with 40 orders in one shot... and especially for such a premium mod as this which costs quite a lot to begin with? I don't want to tell you how to sell or market your product and I don't know what the financials look like, but just offering another potential point of view. There are a LOT of IJ owners out there. I really doubt you would end up with unsold stock.
Just my $0.02
Looking forward to seeing these come to life!
Maybe a bit selfish of me, but I already have high detail planes on my IJ. They were modified from an old model kit as well.
So... the mini-pf ruins/guides are top on my list. The factory ones look really out of place next to the new ramp cover... but that's already on Lior's list, along with a bunch of other good ideas.
The only other cool mods I can think of are:
-Three-dimenionsal slingshot plastics/lane guides with some cool build-up. Maybe even a moving part that links to the kicker? Think of a blade or something like that. I know Hobbit has something similar.
-Three-dimensional/relief apron. A sculpted apron would be over the top. Maybe embedded with some jewels or other items that are lit from behind. Cactus Canyon had a combination of plastic/metal parts that worked well too. Maybe an add-on if there is space.
That's all I got.
Quoted from KornFreak28:Can you show pics of your planes?
Only picture I have handy. Not sure why the glass is half-off in this shot? Maybe testing clearance?
Custom colour will be great. Can't wait to see it.
My ramp cover is the same and I'd like all the 'ruins' to match.
Finally got mine installed.
The whole process took maybe 10 minutes. Instructions were easy and straightforward.
I did feel like my idol ruins were tilting a little to the right, so I backed up the screws on the right side and it helped a lot. The idol model looks awesome too!
Now I just need the mini playfield rails to complete the transformation.
Thanks Lior!

I'm looking forward to swapping out the red guides and seeing the finished product... but this is a bigger project than the other two. It might be a few days before I get to remove the mini playfield.
Thanks again Lior for the beautiful work
