Looks great. I did a FT in all black. Loved it. Great job Chris!

Love the black on the habit trails, apron, gun and rubbers. Not crazy about the cabinet trim as much though.

#10 4 years ago

Yea looks odd on the cab

#11 4 years ago

I prefer the gold, but this still looks gorgeous.

Love the look with black! Almost makes it look more modern. Almost.

Not sure if I like it but it sure makes the blue colors pop.

I was actually more concerned about the wireforms and playfield parts.I thought the cabinet part worked great with the black corners and outlining of the lettering but I know opinions are always going to run 50/50 on stuff like this..

#16 4 years ago

I thought Indy wore Khaki, like Jake from State Farm...

#17 4 years ago

I like it. I think it looks great. More focus on playfield instead of trim bling.

Hmmm...I wonder how blue would look?

#19 4 years ago

Very Nice

#20 4 years ago

Looks awesome. I actually think the black legs serve to visually extend the pillar motifs on the corners of the cab.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking

Yea we just killed most of it off, aerated and reseeded.Chopped the hedges down too
Should look nice next spring but it is going to be ugly this fall and winter.Might have to paint it green.

Black is so sharp… can't go wrong with black on any title! Awesome!

Agree. Would look even better if the light blue and red graphic was recreated on the leg too.

I think it looks pretty good, regardless of my "khaki" comment.

Nice job!

Man that black looks great!

It a shame the aftermarket decals don't line up better on the front edges. Hopefully Rick can get that fixed

Even on MMr TeeKee?

Absolutely… lipstick on a pig!

back to the HEP IJ...

The matching black highlights on the biplane look great as well. Black just makes all the other colors pop!

Black is the new polished brass it seems. I think this is the way to go.

#31 4 years ago

Beautiful work as always Chris! Thanks for posting!

#32 4 years ago

to me, the black brings out the colors on the playfield more vividly ... looks great.

#33 4 years ago

Cool when can I send you my Indiana jones ?

#34 4 years ago

I love it, then again black tends to be my go to. The black rails/legs, etc really makes the colors in the art pop, which is what a trim is supposed to do. The chrome, while nice kind of takes the eyes away from the art/distracts while the black just makes it all flow. It's nice and uniform.

#35 4 years ago

If the cabinet artwork wasn't so vibrant, I would not like the black. However, it works on this one.

#36 4 years ago

oh wow. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!

#37 4 years ago

The black looks great. You are making me rethink which way to go on mine when the time comes.

#38 4 years ago

Great work, but it just looks wrong. Doesn't match, doesn't fit the title.

#39 4 years ago

Yeah...it's really beautiful, but not for me. I'd stick with brass (even though my wife suggested black, so there's clearly a market there for it!).

#40 4 years ago

Totally loving the black. So nice!

#41 4 years ago

First, I think whatever anyone wants to do with their machine is fine, but it really does seem that we always just want things to be different. If a machine comes with chrome, people want to switch it out to color. If the machine comes with color, people want to switch it out to chrome. The spice of life. Either way, your work speaks for itself.

I like the darker color, but went with an "Indy's hat" brown on mine. From a distance, and in most pictures, it looks very similar to black, but it is actually a dark brown with some small gold flecks in it. It was matched/inspired off of Indy's hat, thus my nickname for it. I felt it brought all the benefits of black, but was thematically integrated. I understand the people that want brass, I'm just all golded out. Even thinking of removing my gold trim from ToTAN and going black or something dark.

#43 4 years ago

See I think the black looks WAY better than the original.

#44 4 years ago

I like the black better than gold or silver

Thanks. As a matter of fact I do all the cooking around here too.

The black looks sweet. I am tempted to do mine but my MMr will be black and i just bought a CFTBL with black so three pins in a row all black may be overboard. Im wondering if orange would work on the IJ though?

No!

Yes!

#49 4 years ago

I could always do a candy purple for the MM and black on the IJ..that may be the plan..

#50 4 years ago

Nice IJ. TZ still looks the best in black.
