Have a strange situation on my IJ that has me stumped. When I turn the game on, I get a credit dot with the message that the Idol is not working. If I go into the Idol test, the Idol passes the test and the game works fine. However, if I don't do the Idol test and start a game then the game will go into multiball prematurely after I have locked the second ball, and while the third ball is entering the plunger. If I start another multiball in the same game, the second multiball will behave fine. If I play additional games without turning the machine off, multiball will continue to behave fine. It only acts up on the first multiball after I turn on the machine and only if I don't do an Idol test before playing the first game.

Of course, I would like to play the first game without having to do an Idol test, but I can't figure out where to begin to correct this issue. Seems like the optos and switches must be working if the game behaves fine after the Idol test or after the first multiball if no idol test is done. I can only figure that it must have something to do with what the machine does as it is turned on to reset the idol into position or something like that.
