Check under the path of adventure towards the bottom, there is a diode there, and it gets bent in a way that it makes contact with metal, and causes all kind of problems, I would check there first.

If I can make a suggestion, try one of these instead of the daughter board, there is a very tiny pot screw on the unit that allows you to adjust the voltage, I replaced all my daughter boards with these and every game is now adjusted to 5.10 in case several games are running, and it works perfect.

Just be careful with the pot screw, it is very tiny and if you turn it too far you will lose it, and make sure you turn the game off each time you adjust it. And a tiny turn is all it takes for an adjustment.
