    I must say all those kids riding with helmets look pretty funny these days. We were never forced to wear those.

    There are plenty of states that don't require a helmet when riding a MOTORCYCLE. Damned if I'll ever don one of those stupid bicycle helmets! Never did, and never will!

    The mortality rate's gone down because no kid wants to ride a bike with that stupid helmet on. And parents all drop them off at school now anyway.

    Then when you figure in the "helicopter parenting" going on today, the kids probably seldom leave the driveway or cul-de-sac anyway.
