It's real simple because there are existing posts you can use for the light sockets.

Sweet thanks for showing me.
Quoted from AlexSMendes:Beautiful! I'd use only blue leds...
My first choice was color changing, then green, then blue...then I looked in my bulb stash and realized I didn't have any of those so I put in what I had left. Time for a bulb order.
Installed a polycarbonate red display mask on my ID4 and it looks awesome!

I put my ID4 out on location, where it sits in a row with Simpsons DE, No Fear and Dialed In.
Guess what the top earner is....ID4.
HAHAHA!
who woulda thunk it!
I'm about to leave the ID4 club, therefore I'll be selling a bunch of cool toys and/or toppers... I also have an original ship toy that can be used as replacement for the PF one.... Anyone interested? Please PM me!

Yes.. but to fund a pin that has always been in my wishlist: BSD!
Quoted from ledge:Update:
Cliffy has worked his magic again. 3 protectors for ID4. Not tested yet.
but these look fantastic.
Hi,
Any word if these made it to production? I don't see them on Cliffy's site.
I'm going through my newly acquired ID4, it's filthy, the thought of taking everything off the top to clean and relamp seems daunting.
In the mean time, some things are obviously incorrect. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have spare flipper bats, a right sling plastic or a shooter lane ball gate wire?
My flipper bats were replaced with white bats with a black spade where the logo would normally be. I don't know what game they came from. I like them, but they obviously don't belong on an ID4.
Thank you

Someone listed sling plastics a few posts up. My ID4 doesn’t have a shooter lane ball gate either? Didn’t know it took one lol. The 3 ramps and spaceship on this game come off pretty easy, they look complicated but they aren’t. Once you have the ramps and ship off you have access to pretty much everything.
Thank you
Maybe there isn't supposed to be a one way gate. Mine does have the gate, but no wire form in it.
anyone else????
Hi all,
Does anyone know where to get a new mirrored back panel that goes at the end the PF, under the back box?
Quoted from DropTarget:Hi all,
Does anyone know where to get a new mirrored back panel that goes at the end the PF, under the back box?
I’d imagine that will be hard to obtain. Is the whole back panel missing or just the mirror?

The mirror has a chuck broken off. I can probably have another one made up, or do it myself. I'd rather have an original though.

The only time I’ve seen them come up is when a game is being parted out. Not readily available unfortunately

That's what I suspected. It may be easy to fabricate one.

looks rad! I’d be interested to know what items you used in your setup?
Quoted from DropTarget:Had new mirror fabricated.
Never mind the ugly mug in the reflection of the old mirror.PS: The new one looks like that because it still has the protective plastic film on it.
Nice!
A daunting task.........
I'm cleaning the pf/ramps and replacing rubbers/burnt lamps etc on my ID4.
I've got the two main wire ramps off and have replaced the lower pf rubber. Now comes the daunting part. Removing the plastic ramps and the VUK wire guide.
Aside from taking lots of pictures, does anyone here have suggestions as to the best way to do this? Do the wires running from the switches and flash lamps that run under the pf have connectors that can be disconnected? I don't readily see any.
Sega didn't make this very easy, did they?
TIA
UPDATE: I was going to wait until the morning to take a closer look at this, however, apparently I'm most productive after 1:00am (not really, but you know how it is when a machine is on your mind). I removed the ramps, hopefully I'll remember in what order to reinstall them. what a PITA.

Ran me about 35.00 to have one laser cut. I have the file if anyone needs it.

Where is it located, I get to Anchorage fairly often.

The ramps will only go on one way. Small
One goes on first and the ramp that has the hole in it and feeds that back of the alien head goes on last. Make sure when you run your wires for the right rear flashlamps that they are ran through the hole on the back right of the playfield. If you don’t do that they they can get damaged.
Thank you,
Already back together. It took 5 hours to clean, re-rubber and reassemble. It was the dirtiest pf I've ever had to clean. 23 years of coil dust and black rubber particles. Before you could barely see the lit inserts, now its bright. Looks so much better. And while it played fast before, it's really fast now, the games are shorter now.
Who’s up for getting trying to get CPR to do a short run of replacement plastics for our ID4’s. Love this game, but have never seen one without a few broken plastics.
Probably could even do a few adjustments or overlays to help with the problem areas. Over the inner orbit and jackpot lanes, F-18 Targets, around the VUK.
So..... does anyone already have the grafics digitized?
Hey guys. Im joining the club tonight. Picked one up tonight
I have a couple issues on it that are stumping me.
Before I start let me say the boards are brand new in this game. Installed a week ago.
it is shooting 2 balls into the lane everytime. Is this just that the trough switches need to be adjusted? I was messing around with them last week for a while and before it would say "4 balls missing" then find them, and now after some adjustment I get this issue. Its weird too because i can drain one oc the balls and the game will let me continue to play until the 2nd ball drains.
I Tried adjusting switches and still no change. They all work great in test mode. Or is this the optos?
Also i have another strange issue where the top right pop gets hit and pops but the right sling shot goes off too. And the right sling will no fire on its own when hit but does score. Does this in test mode as well. Will not fire by itself. Both fire when pop bumper is activated
And the last little issue. The top left rollover light (letter i) and the middle alien ship (for multiplier bonus) lights do not work during gameplay. But they both work in the attract mode.. and these are new LEDs, and i have switched them out with same results
Question about a few rules to the game. My dad has one and I was playing tonight and couldn't figure out a couple inserts.
How do you get the hold bonus insert lit? I could get to 10x bonus and even lit the lanes again, but couldn't get hold bonus.
What's the Russell insert do on the right orbit? It's red and has a picture of his plane. Didn't see anything in the rules about it.
One of the awards from alien scan is alien frenzy, what is it?
Thanks!
I believe the Russel inset lights when you get Virus Scan Completed to tell you to hit the right orbit.
I have been trying to figure out how to get hold bonus too????
I am looking for some help with an issue on my ID4. I recently moved it and it went from fully working with no issues to now it will restart soon into my first game. I tried unplugging and reseating all the ribbon cables and conectors but this did not help. The game starts up normal and will go in to attract mode but after a small amount of gameplay it will power off and then restart. There is nothing in particular that makes it restart but it never lasts long before it does. Any suggestions to help me trouble shoot are very appreciated. Thanks

I rarely go for the virus scan, I think I've only destroyed the ship a few times, probably never noticed it on. Will specifically go for it next time I play!!
Bump for the bonus hold?
Anyone know how to get it?

Hi all,
I’m helping a friend with his ID4. The right side VUK on his game is the wire loop one, and it is mounted below the metal bracket. It doesn’t register often. Can anyone here post a closeup of that switch? Is yours mounted below too? Seems like the fork shape switch, mounted above would work better, if it can be mounted that way.
Also, he bought a replacement alien head. How much tear down is required to access and replace it? Thanks
