The title speaks for itself. "Is there an incandescent equivalent to superbright LEDs?

    Like, "Superbright Incandescents?"

Just curious, it could come in handy.

There was a thread with a bulb chart and their specifications a while back.
I am sure there is a brighter bulb you could use in your inserts. The problems would be heat damage to the inserts, shorter bulb life, and probably damage to the circuit from too much power draw.

Not without the bulb creating so much heat that it would be likely to damage inserts above it.

That's one of the big problems with incandescents. The low brightness and large amount of heat generated by incandescents is the reason people switch to using LEDs.

Yea sounds like a lot of trouble to me as well with heat and power issues.

No there isnt but there are LEDs that are called retros that represents
    the incandescent look.

Except retro (warm white) LEDs give off a green tinge, yuck. Oh well, anyway I was talking about brighter incandescents for GI in somewhat dark areas, not for under inserts. Sorry for any confusion.

Have you tried an LED? Does it not work or do you just not like them?

They really don't pull off the "look like an incandescent" look very well, sadly. They're better than the alternatives, though.

I had that problem with the cool white cointakers, but not warm white ones.
