Exciting times: we are finally going to see JJP number 8, around 12 years after JJP opened their doors. Are you excited for this release and why? Do you think the Godfather theme still has “gas left in the tank”?

I'm not excited by JJP releases anymore. All the way til Wonka, I was excited about every JJP release wondering what toys they'd come up with, what world under the glass, thinking packed, rich, exciting.

Then GnR put a ding, and TS4 the final nail in the coffin of what used to be a one of a kind pinball maker building cost no object dream games.

I'm excited to play it, but my excitement really stems from Eric designing. I have both POTC and GNR and love them both. POTC is a top 3 game of all time for me and just the experience of playing GNR is second to none. Eric and Keith are the only developers that I feel are designing games almost specifically for a player like myself and I really find myself gravitating to their games much more than other developers nowadays. As for the theme, I love movies, but I am a little ashamed to admit I have never seen any of the Godfather movies so the theme isn't a must have for me. In a way I'm almost glad I am already over loaded space wise and I don't have an extra $10k+ to throw at a new game, otherwise if Eric stays true to form I would probably want to get this one anyway.

I thought you were banned? Please stop with your passive aggressive anti JJP threads and posts. From the way you titled the thread, how you worded the poll answers, and how you wrote the opening post its all just filled with jabs, everyone knows what you are trying to do.

Oh, Wizard of Oz, a theme well over 50 years old, sold just fine

No jabs my JJP gate keeping friend, only well wishes for JJPs success on Godfather.

Is The Godfather as in the Corleones or some unassociated video game? The mob is dead now nobody cares about Italian stereotypes? Sinatra’s ghost will be haunting the factory.
Loved the book, loved first two movies, but pin will be only based on The Godfather III.

I legitimately hope Godfather does fine, because competition helps everyone do better. WOZ sold on uniqueness of the wide-body machine with lots of plastic and LEDs all over. Timing of that game with a $6500 price tag alone sold it, as a new offering from a different company, not theme. It absolutely did not sell based on the 75+ year old worn out theme known as WOZ. Ask any pinball player if they’d choose Wizard of Oz as a theme they’d want to pay $15,000 for and you’d have almost zero takers. At today’s extremely high prices, theme matters almost more than anything else.

Another post filled with anti JJP jabs. My goodness you don’t stop. It’s not worth my time, or a headache, to reply more.

It’s threads and posts like these why I partially took a break. Yourself and the other usual Pinside anti JJP trolls can have fun here, I’m out.

If I walk up to a row of modern Stern Pinball machines and play one at random, there is about a 90% chance I will really like it.

If I walk up to a row of modern JJP pins and play one at random, there is about a 50% chance I will really like it.

Until JJP launches a few good games in a row I will be hesitant to buy a JJP game. I will happily wait and play this one on location.

What happened to Pee Wee? The Sopranos had enough humor to make it fun. Horse head multiball does not sound fun to me. I try to keep an open mind but my wallet needs more convincing.
