    Good morning Pinside,

I'm in a bit of a pickle and thought the fine folks of Pinside could help get me out of it. This is not your typical shipping thread.....

Short version of a long story: I owned a boxing club with some business partners that were more friends than businessmen. I've sold my shares of the business to them, and am in the process of opening my own gym.

Where you come in: I have located both a boxing ring and a MASSIVE heavy bag rack (can hold 65 bags), but need these items shipped from St. Louis Missouri to Boston. Both items are broken down and ready to ship, and I have all necessary dimensions.

STI seems uninterested in shipping the rack. They want everything palletized. Given that the rack is simply long pieces of steel, it seems crazy to palletize everything. That, and the owner has no interest in doing so (I don't blame him).

I'm interested in any of the following:
    - Freight company suggestions outside of STI that would take on such a parcel.
    - A Pinsider with access to a 20'+ truck that wants to make a healthy amount of coin to ship this stuff.
    - Any other possible suggestions.

I've tried Uship in the past, and I never get a response. I'm willing to pay a LOT more than a standard frieght would cost to get the items here. The sooner I have everything, the sooner I can open my doors.

I've included pics of the rack to give you some idea. The longest single pieces are 17'.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

surprised STI did not want to handle this. I knew a guy here in Nashville that worked for them and he told me they shipped a lot of stuff just like what you have pictures.

I'll have to call them back and see. They didn't love the idea of not having everything on a pallet when I called a few days ago.

Have you thought about ABF U-Pack or a pods-type storage moving company?
