Looking to find a way to make Metallica sound better.
Are people using 8 ohm speakers with Spike 2, or changing them out to 4 ohm and adjusting Spike Menu settings?
Can anyone help with Sam specifically Metallica. Have flipper fidelity installed and looking to get a better sound.
Do I just wire a cheap amp to the flipper fidelity back box speakers?
Quoted from davegauth:MBQuart vs Alpine tonight
Interesting as I bought a kicker for my JP or Stranger Things.
What amp do you like?
Quoted from Rockbiter:Love this thread, thanks for creating it! I've been using the same Kicker 4's as the op on my Stern Pros with good success when paired with a decent 8" subwoofer. The price of these speakers has gone up considerably in the last 24 months (like everything else), so I switched to Infinity Reference 4032's and the Boss CXX8, purchased "like new" from Amazon Warehouse for $60 total, which was about $40 less than the Kicker combo, currently. Installed on Godzilla and sitting next to a Kicker setup on Jurassic Park, I find both setups to be on par (similar experience to the ops in post #162 above), and a huge improvement over stock. Very important to dial in proper ohm settings for backbox and subwoofer for both of these titles. You'll hear crackle or harsh minds and highs if set improperly. External subwoofer is still the biggest single improvement that can be made, in my opinion, backbox and cabinet sub second.

What are the settings you are using with these?
Put the Infinity speakers in Beatles and blown away with things I now hear. I tried to upgrade the stock with other 4 " speakers and it didn't work well.
Quoted from davegauth:For sure! Thanks for the good words and the offer.
I've been really wanting to do something special with a Rush LE. Too bad you were not closer.
I'll send you a PM, and we can work through your pins 1 by 1.
Spike 2 is easy.
How do we hook up to AC/DC and Metallica?
Quoted from gripwhip:I have completed by DIY setup for now. I have the Kicker CSC5 5 1/4" backbox speakers, JBL Stage 810 for the cabinet, Fosi BT30D amp, and my reliable Polk PSW10 all hooked up to my Rush LE. A big shout out and thanks to Dave for all the help. It sounds really good! The biggest difference is the Kickers and you can really drive them with the Fosi amp. Hearing things in the game that I missed before. It is also fun to just to do Bluetooth through the amp and play other music on the pinball speakers.
All of this is not hard. If you can solder even a little bit, you can do this and it will sound way better than the stock setup. Try it. Better equipment makes a big difference. Don't overpay.
What did you use to connect to the Fosi amp? This is the piece I want to get a nice cable to connect to it and need to know where to get it or how to make them.
Quoted from gripwhip:I used a Pinnovater kit that I had previously used to connect my sub. It is really overkill since I am not using the connection to power the pinball speakers anymore. I think there are cheaper solutions to connect to the Stern board and tap into the stereo sound.
I used some old Monster speaker wire and soldered it to the speakers and then used the connectors on the Fosi. I just screwed the wires in for now.
I think I have everything with the exception on how to power the amp when the pinball machine turns on. That’s what I need as I’m going to use pinsound cables and then plug the RCA into the Fosi or I’ll run the speaker wire into a RCA converter.
Still clueless on how to tap into the power besides using a wall wort or a power strip to turn everything on together.
Quoted from gripwhip:I just have the Fosi plugged into a power strip on the floor. You could just leave it turned on and then when you turn on the game it will be ready to go.
That’s an option. I may go with the power strip to turn it all on. I’d rather hook to the 12V though I’m reluctant to wire it without someone sending instructions on what is needed.
Two things. Tried to hook up a better subwoofer from JBL though the nuts were not long enough so I need to figure out how to put in longer bolts on my next install as Stern shortened theirs.
OMG hooked up the Fosi with kickers and it’s night and day different. My only issue is I’d like to get everything in the cabinet.
I hear so much more that the crappy Stern amp doesn’t provide.
Kickers were a 50 % improvement. Add another 50 % for the amp. We are at 2.25 times better than factory.

Quoted from jid:love this thread! Goodwin + 5.25” kickers in Rush and GZ Pro. Huge difference! Thank you all!
How did you mount the Goodwin?
Quoted from RatShack:Bench testing a Wuzhi Audio ZK-TB21 amp kit. Under $30, 5 minutes to assemble.
Initial observations:
BT works fine but no way to disable it. Don't use this model if you plan on taking your machine to shows.
Operates down to 5V.
Signal sounds clean through BT.[quoted image]
I used this in KISS and its loud. I like the sounds as you power it up. I wired to a 12V line and it works great.
I prefer the FOSI, though this one is nice if you are not adding an external subwoofer.
I was struggling with power as I want everything to turn on and off with the pin. Plus I want to fully power my amp.
This surge protector does this well. It makes it all a single power on option. Powered sub and amp turn on when I turn the pinball on.

Any progress?
I like the Dayton amp though I do not like having to put it to aux 1 every time I turn it on.
Quoted from awesome1:I think it's under Utilities - Volume Settings, change the High/Low Shelf setting to 10 Band EQ.
Utilities.
