Hello, pinsiders. I'm a new member who has been lurking a bit and really enjoying the discussions and the insight I've gained.
I recently got into the hobby and have picked up a couple of machines (LOTR and SM) with similar stories -- the playfields are good but the cabinets have some flaws (nicks/dings, start and flipper button wear, in one case a significant long scratch that's been touched up). The more I read about all the HUO machines and art fade concerns on the boards here, the more I'm wondering what impact on the value of the machines the flaws would have. I'm just trying to get a sense of how I did.
So, all other things being equal (routed machine with good playfield, thoroughly shopped, good plastics, etc.), what would you subtract from the value of an a-list pin to compensate for cabinet wear? Let's say you've got a machine that would be worth 3500 with a great cab -- what is it worth with some cabinet flaws along these lines?
