Hi Pinsiders, I'd like to share my project shooter rod I'm working on to eventually make available as a mod for Iron Maiden if others are interested. I have a pro but love the look of the Aces High Eddie with the flight cap and goggles. I carved it in Karvex wax and had a silicon mold made to pour a 2 part resin in. I plan on painting it with acrylic paints but would love some input on what others would suggest to seal the whole piece and what epoxy should be used to affix the head to the shooter rod?

Wow! That came out really great. Nice work. Very cool seeing the process from a printout to the finished piece.

Not sure of the best way to coat and attach to a shooter rod. Curious to see what suggestions come in for this.

Looks great. Would love one for my premium if affordable

Thanks JFink, I will eventually make them available. I just want to make sure they're glued onto the rod and sealed properly so the paint doesn't wear off.

I used several coats of Testors Model Master semi gloss clear lacquer on my Eddie shooter rod heads but that was over enamel paint. It might be ok over acrylic also as it dries very quickly. To attach the shooter rod i've been using 24 hour Araldite 2 part resin which needs to set for about 48 hours to achieve full strength. Not sure if you guys can get that product over there but i'm sure there would be an equivalent. I've had the shooter rod on my Maiden for months now with absolutely no issues. I would also Araldite an extra barrel spring washer onto the back of the head, saves the spring grinding away at the resin over time. These look very cool!!

Going to be making these available soon through Pingraffix. I used the clear lacquer that Mancave suggested. I had the wax model 3-d scanned and plan to grow them in a resin printer.

I don't usually like these things as I think they look tacky but this looks awesome!
Hope it's not some ridiculous price .

Thanks guys, I'm planning to price them at 100 a piece.

Excellent job!! and for the amount of time involved in constructing, molding and detail painting (which i might add you've done a top job on) that's a great price too!!
