You don't need to hook up the harness to the back box for the shaker. There should be a ground connection by the left flipper marked for the shaker.
I wonder if its possible to use pinball browser to put the old DMD animations at a higher resolution back into the game. Or at least ones that don't make it look as bad.
I took a look at the 1.4 rom vs the 1.81 rom that IMve ships with in Pinball Browser. The DMD animations are the exact same dots for at least the Jericho animation, when Whiplash is making his weapon, and the Match animation.
Maybe the LED makes it look worse than a plasma display?

I think I have the same issue as you. I have shots where I hit the left ramp and the ball flies back at me. I think the ball hits the gate switch so hard that the switch over extends back and comes forward with enough force to fling the ball back. Let me know if you come up with a solution.
