Mine came today! Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed by a manufacturing defect. It is posted in this thread: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/imve-come-today-found-a-manufacturing-defect-can-you-find-it but am including the photo here.

Quoted from Pinball-Wiz:

Dude if you think an upside down sticker is a big deal or "defect" on a NIB Stern pinball machine, you are truly a newb. Just wait until you have unsoldered wires, gates put on backwards, bad DMD's, etc.
If this was the only thing wrong with my NIB Stern, I'd be happy as a clam!

Thanks dude. Guess I'm a newb.

Quoted from rkelley17:

Guys, I was wondering the same thing about the plunger. Mine feels like it is binding too!

Had the same problem and replaced the shooter rod. Works great now. I think there was some corrosion or build up on them. Perhaps they had been sitting in a damp box for a while.

Quoted from NightTrain:

Mine does the same thing. Not smooth at all like a new pin should be. Thought about calling stern and having them send me a new one.
But is it the spring that binds or the rod is shitty?

For me it was the rod. I used the same spring with a new rod and it works perfectly. I think the new rod is longer, but I didn't measure.

Quoted from rai:

Where did you get the new rod?

I got an aftermarket by Mikeincali (https://pinside.com/pinball/community/pinsiders/mikeincali). IM is one of the best "head-on-a-stick".

Working on an LED backbox conversion. Have the flashers laid out. Hopefully will finish this tomorrow.

Finished the backbox flashers. This video is without the backbox LED lights on to accentuate the flashers. Somehow, I made and collected DOD. Then, as usual, drained quickly in Jericho.

And with the LEDs on in the backbox:

Here's my DIY modded IMVE. I've made my own LED backbox with color coordinated flashers, apron lights, under cab lights, color matched inserts, redone GI, colored flashers, EL wire whips.
I used the Refinery powder coated armor and apron, the rest of the mods are mine:

Looks fantastic! Great work.

Seriously awesome IM lightshow: Pinduino is used to control the ramp lights, GI, and LED strips on the apron/backpanel.

Step-by-step instructions to make this: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/diy-ultimate-color-changing-gi-interactive-with-gameplay

Quoted from yancy:

That light show is awful for actually playing pinball. It's like the if the WOZ attract mode ran during gameplay. Way, way, way too much. Would make a pretty cool xmas display, I guess.

I think it looks awesome

Many thanks. Lots of fun work putting this together and making instructions so others can do the same. If you want to make this, here are step-by-step instructions: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/diy-ultimate-color-changing-gi-interactive-with-gameplay

If you do this, definitely let me know if you have any questions.

Late to party on this great thread! lyonsden, noticed in your video what looks to be where you playfield has color changing GI throughout your game play. How did you go about doing this? Very cool! Thanks!

Here is a link to step-by-step instructions to build it: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/diy-ultimate-color-changing-gi-interactive-with-gameplay.
