Quoted from girloveswaffles:

So is anyone else here watching "Project Blue Book"?

Just watched episode 1. Fun. The actor who play little finger in game of thrones is a lead character.

Quoted from Deaconblooze:

I started watching The Americans, but we stopped near the beginning of S2. Worth picking back up?
I think I just hate the arc of the modern TV drama.. big open, lots of nothing, build up to a finale, repeat.

IMO the final for The Americans is among the best ever, it was very well done, almost too good by network tv standards

Aidan Gillen

And the ratings for the show have been quite good.

Aidan Gillen is a great actor. He also played Mayor Carcetti in The Wire.

Have you watched the second episode? And there's a new episode tonight at 7.

Project blue book is a fun show if you like u f o s. I got confused because they only streamed ep 1 and then last night was ep 4. It didn't matter really.

my fiancée Veronika is a u f o fan. Me two. Sort of.

I'm gonna keep watching!

I was trying to explain a little of oak island to her. Before the show it was on.

I'm an oak island fan but that show, goes nowhere. I m o.

And its more like the 1978 / 1979 series Project UFO, except it actually takes place during the time of the real Project Blue Book and has some elements of the X-Files. In the second episode they actually debunk one of the sightings.

“Dark” on Netflix is incredible. Very atmospheric and mind bending. It is in German but it is Netflix’ highest rated non-English series. Very, very freaky. Great multithreaded story lines. Watch it in German if possible as the English voice overs are terrible. Can’t wait for season 2. Kind of in the style of The OA - another great Netflix series.

Preacher!!!
Currently my fav, can’t wait for it to return

Awesome! I’m the prop master on preacher. Thanks for watching!

Wow! That must be a fun job. The sets and props are amazing.

Killing eve is becoming my favorite TV show right now. Highly recommend it.

DUDE!! Serious!!? I've read the books inside and out and when I first saw the trailer on AMC long before they aired it I was stunned and excited. The show is done so well and true to the books.
We need to talk! LOL

Ditto. That's a really great and unique show.

I have never watched preacher yet, but I read the comic series when it was new on the stands.

I will watch them all eventually. I've said this before, prop master on preacher. That is someone's dream job. (Maybe yours)

Cool. All the way around...

Try Bates Motel. It’s got everything going for it. My gf and I cruised through all 5 seasons.

Just hammered off Season 1 of The Purge. If you like that sort of thing. I liked it, it entertained me, I like that sort of thing....

Yes it’s been a good 3 seasons on preacher my heart and blood and soul are in that show. So many crazy builds. Horses on rotisserie’s, god phones, anus harboring souls, soul sucking devices..
It was bittersweet to decline s4. The show went to Australia. My 13 year old son did not want to go and be uprooted from school. Very hard decision
Purge? I was also the prop master on the latest purge movie. Crazy ass franchise

#518 5 years ago

I've been getting into The Good Cop on Netflix. Kind of a law & order type cop show with some humor in it.
Tony Danza is the dad & his son is the good cop. Danza was not a good cop. LOL

Ha, I can hardly think of more effed up shows/programs to get involved with, lol. Good on ya!

I am going to watch preacher next. Prop master is here! I read the whole comic series so...

This way I can comment properly on the show. After I watch it I’ll put my thoughts in a different thread.

I just started watching "Dark" on Netflix last night. Excellent show! I was hooked by the first episode. And I agree, the English dub is pretty bad. Subtitles are kind of annoying, but they are definitely the way to go with this show. After a few minutes, your mind gets used to them and you start to feel as though you can actually understand the people speaking German.

Now is a real good time to watch game of thrones, if you never have especially.

The upcoming final season should be spectacular.

Understatement.

Dark is phenomenal. Yes, once you get into the characters and plot you won't even notice the subtitles. The English overdubs are just terrible. Wait until episode 4 and 5. I'm not even sure what series to compare it too. Can't wait for the next season - so many unanswered questions!

#524 5 years ago

I watched the first episode of Dark last night based on this thread's recommendation. Seems like it could be interesting. I'll stick with it.

Mindhunter has been mentioned, but it's worth a watch if it slipped you by. I also watched the Ted Bundy Tapes based on a recommendation. It was much better than I thought. It's only 4 episodes, and an incredible story. I can't believe it all played out like it did.

One to check out is Californication on Netflix...

#526 5 years ago

Lodge 49!!
Also one of my new favs. I had fun with it

Next will be Jigs telling me he’s the prop master for it also! Hahahhahhaa

Black Monday is pretty good if you liked House of Lies.

Season 1 was great. Season 2 was just ok. It started out way too slow, and kind of boring at times.

Shut your rat hole!!

I finished Season 2, yes. I completely agree S1 was a better season. S2 was totally different and at a different pace.

I also started watching The Umbrella Academy last night with the wifey. Only a couple episodes in, we like it a lot!!

I watched the first episode last night. I'm really diffing it so far. I was particularly impressed by the teenage actor. He is excellent.

That young kid is unreal so far. I just had to look him up last night.... lots of nickelodeon stuff.

chiming in here as i've watched a lot in the past few weeks:

The Deuce
awesome show about the beginnings of the porn industry in 70ies NY, written by David Simon, creator of The Wire (best show ever!). definitely not family friendly but awesome!

The Expanse
3 seasons now on amazon prime, good production value scifi, very gripping!

The Handmaid's Tale
i overlooked this show as i thought it's a history piece but it's a dystopian story about a fictional society that robbed women of nearly all human rights. very dark and borderline depressive but i could not stop watching, outstanding cast, especially Elizabeth Moss, really looking forward to the third season!

Next on my list is Kingdom, a korean Zombie miniseries set in the 15th century, sounds promising

Shitts Creek on Netflix... Chris Elliot is back, funny show.

Chris Elliot rules!

Did anyone see Game of Thrones?

Just kidding. But restarted watching it from season one and finished season 2 tonight. It had been soooo long since I watched it when it first came out and the plot is so convoluted, it has been a lot of fun!

Nice commitment, i'd love to re-do the series here soon also, I bet I would notice sooo many things than the first time around.
I had a nose surgery last year winter and watched all seasons for the first time and I loved it so much. Stuck inside and bored, GOT took that away

GOT is something else. I still cannot believe how the masses love it despite all the graphic violence and sex.
I love the costumes! Would wear any armor at the local mall for a small price)

Not sure these 2 were covered - Counterpart (STARZ) and Crashing (HBO) - Enjoyed both!!

"Bosch" on Prime is very well done if you like L.A . Noire Crime drama

Sadly, Counterpart was cancelled.

Just watched first 2 seasons. Was good especially the LA setting but I prefer Justified overall.

I think the second season was better than the first but overall was a lot of convenient plot tie ups.

Manifest is pretty good.

Not really a TV series to watch but Nat Geo channel is showing the Oscar winning Free Solo documentary commercial free Sunday night at 9et and 10:45et.

Suffice to say this dude is insane to climb without ropes, and just watching the trailer made my palms sweat and stomach queasy.

I’ll look for that.

Here is the opening scene of MI 3. It’s a little corney but that got me interested in free solo videos.

#550 5 years ago

The guy in Free Solo actually did a critique of all the famous hollywood climbing scenes. He was pretty relaxed about it, didn't pick them apart too bad, and even some of the more gratuitous stuff he'd say something like "totally unrealistic, but so rad".
