My Iron Monger is getting stuck sometimes and not registering. I suspect it is to do with the way it mounts to the back plate via steel plungers that slide inside 3 brass sleeves (1 at chest level, 2 at the legs). On mine the brass sleeves are sliding in and out of the mounting plate that they sit in (see photo 2) and this is causing erratic/sticking motion. Should these brass sleeves be fixed flush to mount with loctite (per photo 1)? Or perhaps they should move freely and therefore need lubrication? The manual has no exploded view and doesn’t reveal much. Thanks!

Checked with Stern, the brass bushings should be flush with the mount plate so I used loctite for the purpose (so that they can come out with some heat and force if the need ever arises.) It now works a treat.

Interestingly I got no replies on this one from Pinside. I got many on our Aussie forum so I managed to resolve it before I heard from Stern. I guess things get lost in the sheer volume of posts on Pinside.
