Joined the club just now!
Perfect playfield, non touched boards just right and front faded.
1 hour drive for a machine that was on my wish list for so long, price was great. (And the very kind seller has the same first name as me lol)
Couldn't be happier, think it fits our collection perfectly

Anything I can do about airballs caused by the center targets (ENT)?

Quoted from AaronZOOM:

Pinsider davi makes one of the best, from what I've seen. I don't know if he has a dedicated topic about it.
You might also check out this marketplace ad:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/airball-stopper-mod-indiana-jones-93#post-5621497

Quoted from PtownPin:

If u don't have air ball protectors balls fly all over the place....Davi makes great ones although I'm not sure he has any left in stock....DJShakes also makes a nice air ball protector.

Just ordered a set from Davi , they look great!
Thanks for helping both of you

Any advice on what to do with this playfield and insert damage?
I'm planning on keeping the game, so I would like to bulletproof and protect it

Mylar at the sling shots?
Mylar at the spots where the balls drop from the ramps?
Cliffy (?) for wear near droptargets?
New insert decals?
Playfield protector?

Any advice would be appreciated!
(And yes I know I have a broken plastic, new one from Davi is on its way. Also center droptarget is broken, bought it like this and already got a new one that can be installed)

Quoted from orlandu81:

Hello - I'm new to Indy, but the Cliffy's are highly recommended especially behind the drop targets. My playfield had a very small fix done in the same spot as yours next to Marion that the previous owner did. He added mylar in front of the sling shots which stopped further damage from happening.

Quoted from AaronZOOM:

I don't know about the playfield repair, but I'd recommend a set of Cliffy's (mode hole, 3-drop bank, and single drop at minimum), and a full set of plastic protectors to prevent further plastics from shattering.
Back in the wild west days, when advice was scattered and we only had rec.games.pinball to keep us warm, I used acrylic paint and Krazy Glue to fix minor chips in my playfield. Some may think that's a crazy hack job, but with a good colour match and a careful polish, you'd never see it unless I pointed it out. Others probably have better advice, so take mine with a grain of salt.

Thank you both!
I've just ordered the full set of protectors including the ramp protectors from Cliffy
Also bought switch sloth protectors.

Will add mylar for the slingshots, in front of the droptargets and where the balls drop from the ramps.

Going to give my playfield a full teardown and clean soon, and want to replace the regular bulbs for leds.
Thinking of doing this:

-GI= 2smd warm white frosted lens
-Inserts= 2smd warm white clear flat lens
-Backbox= really not sure what to do with the backbox, I guess warm white but not sure if clear dome/frosted dome/flat lens. Or should I go for a color set (white, red and yellow)?
-Flashers= 10smd wedge flashers cold white (but not sure if they fit in the domes, and 8 smd cold white bajonet flashers

I don't want to distort the art, so any advice if this would work would be appreciated

#6220 3 years ago
Quoted from Ricochet:

I’ve found that frosted looks best on inserts as well. I only used clear on the small bonus arrows.
2SMD frosted for back box no color... warm or sunlight.
5SMD towers or incandescents are best for flashers.

Thank you!

Quoted from okgrak:

I’m a warm white all around person, but for IJ the backbox it is so yellow as it is, that Sunlight gives it a bit more depth and contrast.

Thank you! But ordering in the USA sucks due to the shipping costs, and the 21% taxes on top that our country takes
So I prefer to order in Europe when possible, but I don't know if there is a shop with something similar to the Comet sunlight ones..

Quoted from TimBoch:

Joined the club today. I have been looking for some time and finally found one I felt good in buying. Still a bit sad to have to sell my one of a kind Tee'd Off with a custom color DMD to make room, but I think I can live with this line up.

This has to be one of the best 6 pin collections I have ever seen

Sometimes the stars align.. How am I going to beat this?
Own it for about half a year now, and I still love it more and more everytime I play it!

Replaced the stock speakers with better ones today
Drilling out the hole took me a long time, but I did it accurately and I'm happy with the result.
Difference in sound:
-More bass
-Deeper sound, more 3d
-High sounds are nicer to listen to

Next up: new subwoofer

Quoted from radial_head:

Drilling new holes is the most tedious and nerve-racking part of a speaker swap to me. I don't love the Flipper Fidelity speakers I have in my indy right now at low levels (totally rocks around 10 though) but the pre made mounting hardware that came with the package made the purchase worth while.

Quoted from Kerry_Richard:

Thanks for sharing your opinion on these. I like to experiment with different speakers for same reason. I'd be curious to know what subs you choose.
I know the Pinwoofer kits use many of the PYLE speakers.
Kerry

With the right tools, it's a piece of cake!
But ofcourse I don't have the right tools so it took me a long time
Ended up using a jigsaw tool, a dremel tool and a drilling machine.

I bought PinballPro speakers for my Shadow 7 years ago, and installation was so easy compared to this.
Ofcourse I have saved over €100 by doing this myself this time.

I have not decided on a sub yet, I don't like external ones and I don't want the bass to overshadow the higher sounds.. I'll let you know what I've got ones it is installed!

Try and do it yourself.
Was my first attempt and happy with the result[quoted image][quoted image]

I need to replace a few insert decals, and would love to clear coat it after. Too scared and inexperienced to try it though

Took my Indy apart today!
Now to clean it, replace rubbers with silicone ones, change lamps to leds, place the Davi plastics and more

Got a set of new starposts for my Indy and I got 2 translucent (and longer) posts in the set. Currently I don't see them on my Indy, any advice on where they should go?

Quoted from Davi:

Only 1 is part of the game, in the backbox, left side.

Quoted from pinballinreno:

One only, is used for the backbox light board stop or door stop.

Wow thanks guys! I spend a bit too long on trying to find it on the playfield

#7869 3 years ago

My playfield is looking pretty great except for 5 or 6 insert decals. Anyone got advice on where to buy them or has a few spare ones?

Is this correct? Can't imagine that screw should be there
Also: before I took the game apart, balls rolling from the idol lock kept slamming into the slingshot half of the time. But I don't see anything to make adjustments?

Quoted from Tlamb:

This screw should be a mini-post with hex base.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Thank you Tlamb , will have to order one

Changed the ugly 4 smd leds out for nicer ones, but now a row and a column are out :/
Also the 2 gi lights on the mini pf are out.
I did the swap with the game off, so I wonder what went wrong..

Anyone know where I should look first? Q90 and Q98? Brown wire?
Thanks in advance!
