Weird rules question:

I keep getting random extra ball (i.e. eternal life) when I rapidly hit the center shot drops and then immediately drain to the left outlane. I have noticed this random "free ball" but finally pinned it down to this specific shot. It feels like the designers felt this shot was too brutal so inserted this "eternal life" feature when it drains this way. Am I crazy? Is this a real thing?

Quoted from thechakapakuni:

That’s legit. That’s exactly what it is. If you hit those drops straight on and it goes directly to the left Outlane on a quick timer you get the ball back

Thanks for confirming.

Quoted from koops:

I've also got the two different fixes you've seen that i've done on mine.
Two things.
1. A little foam at the top. This slows the ball so the return isn't as fast.
2. A couple of small rubber post stops on the ends of the wireguide. This acts like a rubber ramp stops on stern plastic ramps. The ball if travelling too fast will hit them and slow down. As a secondary effect is makes the gap smaller.
Makes repeated ramp shots really fast.

Clever. I have a similar problem on my Taxi and think #2 will help.

That is one of my favorite things to go for. It took me awhile to figure out how it works. In fact I think I got it on accident a couple of times.

You get a flashing version from the roll-overs which ups the loop value (5m per loop). Then, if you hit either ramp it will light (flashing) the opposite loop. If you hit a flashing loop it "sets" your friend (solid). If you do that for everyone then it light the jackpot on a timer on the right ramp.

On a long game you often lock a number just from playing but you have to keep an eye out for the jackpot or you can miss it.

I just did a full shop on my Indy and rebuilt the flippers, cleaned and waxed everything and replaced the rubbers with poly and now the flippers are honestly too strong. It plays super fast and I am getting fly balls I never had before and I just broke a drop target yesterday. I didn't change the coil or anything just a basic rebuild and there isn't any setting to reduce the power. Anyone know a trick to reducing the power slightly? I don't necessarily want to change to a lower power coil but I guess I could.

Quoted from Ricochet:

There are no means to adjust the coil strength on the game short of changing out the coils.
It’s zippy when it is clean for certain.

Well I guess I will just have to break it in...

Quoted from FlippyD:

Set the angle as steep as you can get it too.

Thanks, I will try that.
