Quoted from Averell:Insert was ok, only the surface was damaged during removing the mylar, so the decal was damaged, too.
Often these decals were damaged because air diffuse through.
nice, and how do you clean it, while not removing it?!

Mask the area, sanding with different grain size, clean with 2-propyl-alcohol, clear coat, polish, clear coat, polish, decal, clear coat...a few times.

I would like to share with you some photo of my insert´s, the yellow color is not solid...
Someone with experience told me those are screen print lines. It's present to some degree in a lot of playfields.
I wondering if someone also have it
No one?!?!
Just got my boards serviced. Game works perfect now except my POA motor. the red led light is on the little board under the pf in the back but I get nothing form my POA from my POA. Any basics to check first?
Hey Indy owners where are you guys adjusting your flippers. Mine sit slightly above the metal dowels and I'm finding it really hard to hit ramps

On the same boat
Quoted from cosmokramer:Thats gonna look great...
Thanks! The old decals were in very decent shape but a restoration is a restoration! Mr. Pinball decals are on their way!
I can feel with you... did the same whole work and it took me 18 month to complete these wonderful Pinball again.
And YES it's worth it.
Uhh, I like the red boxes inside... I remember someone who did that at his Pins, too.
Quoted from Rondogg:Wait. Was that a decal already on top of the original decal?
Ha! i didn`t notice that untill you pointed it out. Someone went the lazy route.
Quoted from Rondogg:Wait. Was that a decal already on top of the original decal?
Yes sir, the previous "restorer" basically just sanded the old decals smooth and placed the new decals on top! I was very surprised to find out he took the easy way out! No cutting corners with me

Yes, thanks for the idea
Where are you guys getting your decals from? Who sells the best quality and closest to the originals? I purchased some from Classic arcades which I promptly returned due to poor color match

Here is the decal battle

If you can wait few weeks, I can share mine ( and the source).
Anyone running there game with a rottendog mpu? I can't get poa to work. Or the opto board for poa to work. I get continuity from conn under mini of Back to boards in head. But can't get Optos to work. Can't tell if my opto board is original or after Market
Quoted from KornFreak28:Yes, thanks for the idea
Looking great Korn, keep it up! can't wait to see the end result!!!

More than happy to wait. I like how on the silkscreen decals the whip detail is seen through the thicker dark line rather than this line being solid as on many reproductions.
For the record, I went the lazy way with my decals (I really didn’t have that much time to commit, nor the woodworking skills) and it turned out amazing. I’d put it side by side with any other work and I think it would be impossible to tell. That being said, I have tons of respect for those with the patience and skills to do it right. I never plan on selling it, so I don’t feel like I’m hiding anything.

Like this? this is off my new decals-

In this case you have to buy screen printed version. You won't see same effect on repro.

That’s the ones, just like the original art!!!
Anyone have the pingraffix side blades installed?
Trying to decide if this enhances the look of the game at all.
can i get some opinions on the mode hole. when the ball is ejected from there, it is sent a different place every time, sometimes even right down the drain. I imagine i need to get under the playfield and adjust the ejector. Can i get some feedback on where the ball should be sent each time it is released from the mode start hole...

This should be in the confessions thread.
Poa is dead. Does not move on start up. Also fails poa test. I know it works in conjunction with sw 94 and 95. I have a replacement rottendog due to extensive acid damage
Opto board is couple years old
I can ground wires from driver board and it will turn left and right no problem
Tested new CPU in friends Indy works perfect
There is some corrosion on CPU Connectors and they are all being replaced when parts arrive
Just need a plan of Attack to narrow down what's failing I get correct voltages and ground. I'm missing something simple as it worked before
Good gift card to person who solves it
Quoted from cosmokramer:For those who have not seen this beauty, A NOS Ron Kruzman masterpiece...(its not mine )
Love to see more detailed pics Great work
Quoted from RGAires:Love to see more detailed pics Great work
Theres a for sale thread for it.
$3250, and you can take it home....plus the work of putting it in.
So I've been doing lots of work on my restoration. I replaced the fighter plane with a super cool and realistic looking plane that I found thanks to Lior. I removed the light board from the old plane and transfered it to the new plane. It was a bit tricky and a bit of a pain but I'm really pleased with the results
I've also been working on the cabinet, removing the old glue, making repairs, and preparing the cabinet for sanding. I also removed all the PCB's for cleaning. I'll be polishing all the metal and painting the inside of the top cabinet as well.
All the cabinet bolts have been stripped of the old paint and will get a coat of primer and black paint.
I also got the decals I ordered from Mr. Pinball! These decals are amazing! Just the yellow color alone is so much different! I'll post pics of both decals later for comparison
Lol I just was told the plane bracket goes on the inside. I'll put it on the inside part of the plane today
Quoted from Psw757:I wish someone would start selling these plane mods, much better looking!
Lior, you watching?
Speaking of Lior. You all would be crazy not to get his Ruins mod and Ramp cover while you can. Only happening once this lifetime, so, now's your chance!
Quoted from Psw757:I wish someone would start selling these plane mods, much better looking!
Lior told me he made a special board for his plane. I have the model and was very confused how I would fit the existing light board in there. Your pictures make it very clear. Thank you!
