Quoted from Toine79:

I have a lot of airballs on the 3 bank droptarget directly to left outlane.

Davi’s airball protectors are a must. I have had mine installed for about a month now and they completely transform the game play. It does take a little time to get used to how the ball reacts from what would normally be a frustrating airball as the ball is basically bouncing directly down to the playfield and it’s trajectory has changed from what might be expected.

#7852 3 years ago
Quoted from The_Pump_House:

You need davi’s air all protectors

Quoted from Manny65:

davi makes airball protectors for both the 3 drop and single drop targets - send him a PM to see if he has any stock from his last production run

Quoted from TimBoch:

Davi’s airball protectors are a must.

Thanks guys, he ordered a set.

Took my Indy apart today!
Now to clean it, replace rubbers with silicone ones, change lamps to leds, place the Davi plastics and more

Check the wooded side rails. Make sure the glue hasn’t let go under the vinyl wrap. I see on the left side the is some wrinkling in the vinyl where the finger joint in the wood is.

You starting a thread to document? I will be doing this later this year probably, curious to see what choices you make and how hard a swap it is lol.

Nice PVC rotisserie

Could you pleas show how the playfield is secured to the rotisserie? I see it’s not resting on the perforated angle. Thanks!

Second time using this setup. I designed and made it myself.

Worked really well on TZ. I just end up putting the slides on last before transferring into cabinet. I use the rear T-Nuts (attach to slides on each side)to attach the back, and use the holes for the hanger brackets at the front.

Looking for an Apron for my IJ scratch build. Anyone have a spare, condition not important.

I always document with a bunch of pictures, not sure I’ll start a thread but I’ll let you know the difficulty level. So far it feels easier than TZ, hope that continues

Got a set of new starposts for my Indy and I got 2 translucent (and longer) posts in the set. Currently I don't see them on my Indy, any advice on where they should go?

Only 1 is part of the game, in the backbox, left side.

My POA ball stop rod is dropping as soon as the POA is a play option rather than when the ball makes it up to the switch in front of the rod

Suggestions?

If its just keylines, draw them in with a molotow paint marker and mylar over them.

HELP!!! Need an idol and Apron for my IJ scratch build. I know someone has one laying around. If possible speaker grills would be great, but those can be easily fabricated.

So, I haven't been real active in pinball for a while but I have been tinkering around. I finally finished a game I've been working on for quite a while, thought I'd share a couple pix. Rebuilt everything..... all new ramps, plastics, etc. Nice to be tinkering with pins again!

Thanks! I still need to trim edges and remove outer film but I’ve really happy with how it’s coming together. Attached some better pics.

I just ordered new legs, decided to go with black. Restore is cruising along.

Did you paint under the radcals (black)? I need to get to mine soon.

#7880 3 years ago
Quoted from ViperJelly:

Did you paint under the radcals (black)? I need to get to mine soon.

Correct, I painted the whole cabinet in flat black, focusing on the perimeter. RADCALs are great, they require far less preparation than standard decals. They are thicker so they do not show minor imperfection. Just make sure the surface is clear of dust and debris. This is my second go with RADCALs, honestly I was a bit nervous the first time I did them, but it is fairly easy and if your cabinet is faded I highly recommend.

#7881 3 years ago

Agreed... Be sure to paint the cabinet & head first. RadCals are slightly translucent and can allow the original artwork to show thru them.

Also, in doing so; you'll see any major imperfections in cab & head that may need a hit of putty and light sanding.

I would recommend removing original artwork. It is fairly easy with a heat gun and scrapper. This way you can repair, fill, and sand more easily.

#7883 3 years ago

I agree... that is the best way to do it right.

I've done many cabinets the "right" way. RadCals allow the user to cut some corners. I just did my IJ with RadCals by cutting some corners:

hit entire cab with power sander (didn't remove decals to the wood)
hit visible areas with putty,
hit it again with sander,
paint,
light sanding,
touch-up putty,
light sanding of those areas
Install RadCals

#7884 3 years ago

Oh my..... powdercoat turned out well I’d say!

Nearly have the top side fully populated. Bottom transfer and cleaning tonight!

There is definitely a shine once you remove the protective film. I’ll take pic after I move to final location

#7887 3 years ago

Is this correct? Can't imagine that screw should be there
Also: before I took the game apart, balls rolling from the idol lock kept slamming into the slingshot half of the time. But I don't see anything to make adjustments?

Looks gorgeous. My only beef is with the green leds under the adventure inserts. I had those green in there and went back to the white led that mimics incandescent. Otherwise it fades the lettering. Just my opinion. Try some warm white there and see if you like it!

I tend to agree. I need to order some more LEDs, would be an easy enough swap but I don’t have enough of the flexible LEDs that work best for the side mounted lamps. I also added some cool white in the backbox to help give some contrast.

Indiana Jones and Twilight Zone next to each other.
my two favorite pins of all time

#7894 3 years ago

Just finished my cab resto and project clean up.

Custom cab, translite and speaker art...

Pinsound motion control is amazing after I set it up right..

Just waiting for custom parts to come to make my own planes.

Last Indy I went full brass plating, but to me didn't suit so did a combo this time and hand did the gun to be more realistic.

Some pics

Nice work! Where did you get those decals from? They look more like the ones from the promo video vs the standard decals with blue pyramids?

#7896 3 years ago

Custom modified and made locally. I wanted all the blue gone from cab, speaker panel and transliteration.
Less yellow, more details etc.

Hello IJ aficionado's

Do you know the part number for the bottom center ball guide; the number is not shown in the operator's manual (see figure)
Looking through the parts list posted to IPDB, might it be one of these three: 01-11385, 01-11386, 01-11387.

This is the guide that directs the ball into the trough. The part is located under the apron. Imagine my surprise to see the guide pictured a few posts back (thanks #Tlamb for the sniplet). I don't suspect the exact part is used on other pins, but I'll look at the usual suspects: STNG, Dredd...

If you got this guide or any other of the stainless parts, please IM me. Or any other IJ parts to help my complete restoration
