This advice is wrong. This is the fix...

1. Remove the metal stop bracket from behind the mode start hole.

2. Add dead foam to the back of the metal that is a few inches back of the mode start whole.

The ball will go past the hole, hit the dead foam and drop back into the mode start in the exact same way as on Getaway. It's the only real fix. Bending the stop bracket only equals a marginal improvement. Same with lowering the mode hole plastic. With this fix you'll end up with a 90%+ success rate with the mode start.

Yes, ditch the cliffy. You can't have screws behind the hole obviously if the goal is to have the ball go past the hole.

Cliffy isn't really needed anyway. It's the ball hitting the bracket and smacking back down that causes most of the wear anyway.

Quoted from Dellamarmalade:

I'm taking the parts off tonight and want to put it back together but do not have dead foam. What can I pick up that can do the same job.

I suppose you could layer up some double sided foam tape in that area.

Quoted from Dellamarmalade:

I would really love to know the absolute best way. So many people have different ways of doing this.

REMOVE THE BRACKET.
