I'm about to dig in with my logic probe but wondering why this switch would work in switch edge test but not in game. Got a credit for I'm trying to clear up. It's got a rotten dog mpu089.

You are talking about the trigger switch causing the launcher solenoid to fire right?
Isn't their a rollover switch where the ball sits that indicates there is a ball present? I would check to make sure that switch is working... the launcher will not fire in game if that switch isn't reporting closed, indicating a ball present in the trough. I don't think the test considers the switch logic.
Ot is in fact the shooter lane switch that is giving me credit for. During multi all the game does not recognize a ball is there and wont automatically launch balls back into play. However the switch works correctly in switch edge test.
Update, when I go into single switch test rather than switch edge test and activate the shooter lane switch this clears the credit dot. I play a game and the dot comes back. When in multiball and a ball drains it sits in the shooter lane a few seconds before being auro launched. Pretty sure the shooter lane switch isn't being sensed during gameplay and only during test modes.

any updates?
Hahaha - 3 years later!
I think there is a setting for this switch in the menu to disallow the gun handle switch from firing the ball? Something like that anyway from my foggy memory of this game 30 years ago.
