Hi
I bought 2 years ago a unshopped IJ sample / proto game.
I know that in Germany around 4 of this games are out. In the US I found via Google that there might be at least 5 games.
Anyone has an idea how many games are "sample" ?

The machine is in very very bad condition. Technic is okay but looks ugly and the playfield needs a very professionel touch up. The planes were missing and I bought repros. Also the cab is faded fully out.

On the cabinett, under the legs I figured out that the original color was not black, its a red/brown color with wooden structures.

Now I am thinking on restoring the game in original look or just sell it as it is due I hope that my WOZ will show up within the next months.

Any information would be great .. is it really rare ?! I have also a MC sample type and on this machine I am sure, there are not more than 10 out.

That is the earliest sample I've seen - I know I've seen quite a few samples in the US.

I have a rough sample game in my restoration queue. Had the playfields redone. Need to rebuild all the mechs and boards, which will be pretty easy, debating whether to restore the original cabinet/head, which is quite rough with water damage, or buy a new one. Woodworking is not my area of strength - but I need to learn

I'll post some pics of mine later.

I would like to know more about the prototype/sample games, what are the major differences about them?

So far as I figured out:

"Dr. Jones" to read "Dad".
"seize the stone" = "sieze the stone"
Green insert instead Yellow insert for droptarget
Istead "Sallah" to read "Sulla"
Superjackpot-Insert is red framed instead pink
Big wing under flipper fingers instead design team
Translite darker and missing written "Indiana Jomes Pinball Adventure"
Idol is not golden, chrome and very heavy
Some red pcb´s
Lost plastic
A lamp more under the ruins
Other ballthrough, more like WPC-95 with optos
Path Of Adventure is nor red, stainless weldet steel

and .. very intresting is the red color in the corners of the cabinett decal.

If I restore the game I will use licenced decals but make the corners with overlay to look in this dirty red with wooden musters. No moddings on this pin but all will look like new, maybe polishing the metall lanes glossy.

I have a mint condition sample IJ with the metal path of adventure and lamps in the speaker panel for the jackpots.

Okay .. so I know from an other guy in the US from a sampe, with yours and mine we are on 3.
In Germ, any are around 3 or 4 samples.
On ebay US shows every couple of month a sample for 10.000 dollar up ... nobody buys it and month later it pops up again ...

Cheers
Tom
