Echzell is ca. 30 miles from Frankfurt.

If you're planning just a visit and not to participate in the tournament, ask IFPA if that will be possible. According to a thread on the german Flippermarkt forum, the room for visitors and spectators is very limited.

The venue is a private collection, so it's only open by invitation of the owner the rest of the year.

But there are some places near Frankfurt (more or less) to play some pinball. While these collections may not be as large, there's still enough games to spend an evening.

For amusement only - a pinball/arcade club in Rodenbach (30 km from Frankfurt)
Extraball - pinball museum in Neuwied (130 km)
Flipperhalle Ludwigsburg - pinball club in Ludwigsburg (190 km)
Pinballparty - pinball club in Wittlich (200 km)

(Locations are already on the pinmap)

    Quoted from rotordave:

Thanks Tomcat! Can you recommend anywhere to play in Frankfurt?
We will be there for 3 days before the ifpa.
    rd.

Sorry, can't recommend locations in Frankfurt. Pinballs in public locations are extremely rare (almost extinct) in Germany. Though you may find amusement halls by the dozen in city centres, they usually only have a lot of slot machines. Occasionally there's a single pinball in a bowling alley or cinema foyer, but most of the machines have ended up in the hands of private collectors.

So the best chance to find some games is by asking fellow pinheads on www.flippermarkt.de. They are very hospitable when new players ask for a chance to test some pins. Guess they'll be pleased to invite someone who traveled around half the world for some games.
