I really, really wish I could have gone. It's so close, but I'm changing jobs and this falls right in the middle of my two weeks notice, so it's probably not a classy move to spend a few days away. Don't want to burn bridges.

    Anyway, looks great, JJ.

Looks like a lot of fun! I spy RotorDave in pic #6

Will there be any video coverage online?

I doubt it. Thats a PAPA thing.

I might be able to setup my laptop or something.. dunno how good it would look though. LMK if you guys want me to try

I would love to watch video coverage of it personally. I could watch that stuff all day.

    #8 9 years ago

Hummm. Would you like a feed of pin cams? Or what would you like to see?

    #9 9 years ago

Live feed of the games would be great! Any sort of feed whether it be live or after the event would be fine imo

That would be awesome, whatever you could get together i'm sure would be enjoyed by many. Youtube/vimeo would be aces since its so much easier to view later on and across platforms

    #13 9 years ago

If you can put up a live feed no matter how crappy the quality I'm sure many including myself would watch it.

    #14 9 years ago
Wow, Joshua Henderson sure came storming back in the last two rounds. I was beginning to wonder what was wrong with him. Good to see Trent doing well since he has bombed a bit in Colorado. I hope Dean Grover can qualify, he's down on the bubble with only two rounds to go....

    #15 9 years ago

ok I brought in my Kindle Fire HDX today to run some Streaming.. Anyone know how do this?

    #16 9 years ago

Nope, but I hope you figure it out. Thanks in advance for trying.

That's one hell of a final 8. You might want to keep an ambulance on standby tomorrow. Somebody could get hurt!

Thanks for the updates and thanks for hosting the event. Is it playing out like you thought it would? Have the Sharpe brothers trashed any of your games yet? d

    #31 9 years ago

I hate to say it, but not a whole lot of surprises in the line up.

Looking forward to hopefully some of the younger generation eventually coming up and shaking it up a little.

Here's something I picked up this morning down in Denver:

    image.jpgimage.jpg

    (Then I put it down).

Had a nice conversation with Gary Stern while I was there. He is an absolutely tireless ambassador for pinball and still loves to travel. No news to report (didn't expect any) on items that would interest many here. I did put in a plug for those of us who would like to see a Muppets themed pin. They've looked into it, but he said that other than for guys my age, the demographics skew too young since Disney is making the new movies more for kids. I took that to mean a Muppets pin isn't very likely.

Anyone who has ever heard Gary speak knows the answer to one of the questions I asked him ("What is your favorite Pinball Machine?"). He didn't skip a beat and told me the answer. (As soon as I asked the question, I remembered the answer).

So I changed it up a little and asked him "What is your second favorite?". He thought for a bit before he answered. Anyone know the answer?

Thanks to JJ and Game Exchange for hosting. I don't follow IFPA, so the only player I recognized was Lyman. It's always fun to watch home play, especially the artistic finesse he uses on the flippers.

Congrats to all the players for making it this far. I'll be interested to learn who goes home with my trophy.

Jorian played awesomely all week. He won Lyons Classic and the warm up comps.

He had 20 points more than 2nd place in qualifying ... He deserved the win.

Commiserations to KME for 2nd but congrats on an awesome effort.

Hard to argue with this. Up 3-1 though KME more often then not would close it out.
