So exactly how does the IFPA compute the ratings and rankings?
I've looked at their website and haven't found any sort of formula/explanation.

For example, I currently have a ranking of 3764th (which seems to be based on my 14.10 "active" points).
But I also have a rating of 1279th (which seems to be based on my 1507.02 "somethings").

Anyone know what/how these numbers are computed (or can point me to a document that describes it) ?

    Thanks.

All of the calculations are on the website, but you need a mathematics degree to understand it.

Basically all points you earn are based on the point of the people you are playing.

They have 2 numbers. The first matters and it is the accumulation/ depreciation of your top 20 tournament points.

The second is an efficiency rating, basically how you do against better players. Not sure what it’s used for.

I stayed at a holiday inn express last night so take it for what it’s worth.

TL;DR it’s too complicated to really understand so just play better and the numbers increase.
