I would like to declare for WI next year!

But seriously, give it a break! Last year it was all about Jason (current Champ!) coming to WI.
Now, with a local-only crowd, you try to force this newest agenda on the whole system?
Josh has stated several great reasons why it is fine the way it is. Not to mention the extra BS that would go along with having to declare, before the results are all even in!
If someone qualifies in several states, they have earned the right.
And, it's still nearly a month away, you have notice.

    Quoted from Whysnow:

The way you say it, It honestly feels more like the reality is that 'top players will enjoy winning a bigger gaurenteed prize pool at nationals' so a good way to build that prize pool is with seed money from each state.

It IS!! Really, its less than $10.00!! Unless there is Sponsorship, players have always had to seed the pot. And if I win Colorado SCS, I will make the choice to either go to Nats, or the CO money, and chance at a TRUE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP will gladly be forfeited to those that can attend. IFPA already allows the 2nd place the option to attend, too. (I think)

This is the sort of thing that makes me want to run an entirely seperate State Event each year where all money goes to winners and give them the choice of travel or not to travel (just like you want to give the choice for SCS).

...Isn't that just called "every other event of the year"??

Actual cost per player to seed the HUGE National pot, is $6.25!
    OMG!!

    Quoted from Whysnow:

I think I am providing a very logical and plausible alternative that removes this bias against a select subgroup of competitors while at the same time likely growing that national prize pool exponentially.

Because the select subgroup is "select", they have the shot at the money, basically it's "their' pot!
Don't play SCS if you are so upset about contributing. All have this option.
Get it? Or are you dense too? (classy, btw)

If IFPA has a sanction, they would need to charge Everyone, and that discourages new tourney players, and probly some existing ones too. Bad Idea.

    Quoted from Whysnow:

I sure hope if he wins my $6.50 at nationals that he spends it on something better than budweiser.
I call that my $6.50 goes towards tips of the semantically clad women.

    It's $6.25, but I digress.
If I win Nationals, I will give the WI $100 directly to Josh Sharpe for having to put up with you.
Then, me and all the other GOB's are headed to Da Club.

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

    Perhaps some Pinsiders in WA/OR/CO may know which of these states {Idaho, Montana, Utah, & Wyoming}

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

What about New Mexico? Maybe not until 2017??

I think New Mexico and Utah are pretty close to getting their scene off the ground.
    Maybe WY

    Quoted from appeac:

Here's the bracket for MI for breaking ties - hopefully it won't end up too much of a cluster.

To keep things flowing for the tiebreakers, I would put players out in 4-player matches when possible, gets things done in one shot. (instead of 3, 2-plyr matches, using 3 machines)
Just a thought if things are going to be too clogged up.

    Quoted from smassa:

Maybe when I was 8 and didn't make the playoffs in soccer or little league. I guess that about when I stopped needing a pat on the back for everything.
But hey enjoy your "participation award".

I'm pretty proud of my "ribbon". If it's good enough for PAPA then it's good enough for me.
No need to bag on it

    Quoted from Frax:

And apparently, those who do, won't publically tell the rest of us, so if we're not extremely vigilant and know the ungodly complex rules of WOZ inside and out, as well as all of our tournament directors, I don't see how WOZ could feasibly be used in any tournament at this point until there is a code update...how the hell am I supposed to know if someone is cheating/exploiting if I have no idea what's causing the huge score jump?

I think you would probably be OK using it in tourney. I think there are only a couple of people that know of it. Unless it is a Major tourney that has a lot of traveling players, I don't think it's an issue. Whatever it is, it is being closely guarded for now.
