Quoted from metallik:

You went off on a tangent there... I never mentioned anything about backing out of deals or trying to buy a game out from under someone.
If a coworker told you they knew a friend with "an old game they were getting rid of", and you got there and found a Mermaid, what would you do? Tell them they're sitting on a small goldmine, or quietly load up $7000+ worth of their stuff and toss a few hundred their way afterward? What if the seller said they have no idea on its value and asks you for a fair offer? Does that one question earn them the thousands their game is worth? Remember, you're not a mind reader and you don't know all the reasons the game may be for sale...
If you see someone at a gas station drop a $100 when they pull their wallet out, and you pick it up with no one realizing, do you give it back or pocket it? Both situations give you the opportunity to profit from another person's mistake...

Frequently, Craigslist seems to be about little more than someone trying to steal something from the uneducated.

I don't like that.

Quoted from Xerico:

Except in this case, the seller set the price when making the deal with Frax. Frax asked for a price. The seller set a price. Frax agreed to the price and started working pick up arrangements.
So the seller had a deal with Frax. He broke the deal when get got a better offer from Ken.
I blame the seller 100%. Frax did not make a low offer. He agreed to the price set by the seller.
The seller chose more money over his word.
Marcus

So the seller reneged on his initial deal after becoming more educated on what it was he was selling?

i would imagine this happens frequently on Craigslist.
