I picked up a very nice example of Road Show and couldn't move it back out fast enough. Overall, the game looks and plays great. Soundtrack is no better/no worse than any other 90s game. The callouts and banter of Red and Ted are pretty funny. Perfect theme for my son who is into all things boy, including construction trucks. But the linear rule set just killed it for me. Starting in the same cities all the time. I had a Whirlwind for a short time and got annoyed with it, too. Starting with same shots every game to progress through the same pre-determined shots progression. Something about the Nintendo Mario Brothers levels feel to it, and having to do exactly what the game designer wants you to do, just does not appeal to me as a player. I prefer games where the player can choose different strategies to beat an opponent. It will be interesting to see what Lawlor forces us to do in his next game with JJP. Road Show is great game in a larger collection where styles of games are varied.
