One of my 555 lamp sockets broke on my Embryon, I can't find a replacement and was wondering what my options are? There is a socket thats unused under the PF, not sure what its for btu I have seen on other games, mabe a tester or something? anyway let me know

#302 8 years ago

I replace all of my broken 555 sockets with 44/47 bayonet sockets. Just about every supplier has them. Good luck!

Quoted from MrBellMan:

Did you get the Paragon working?

No sir, that project is the process of passing along to another pinhead to complete. This was a HUO I was fortunate to pick up on Friday! The inserts are cupped and the cab is faded on both sides, but not in front. I will have to take some pictures and post them. She is a beauty.

Nice catch, Captive_Ball.

Flash Gordon was hardly played at home, used on route, almost only

#305 8 years ago

Wow, that's a well-loved Flash Gordon!

#306 8 years ago

Because Flash Gordon is a badd ass game!!!

#307 8 years ago

Haha, I love that Flash Gordon pic

Thank you for buying FG. I just enjoyed working on the electronics part of the game. i just didn't see having time in this decade to do that playfield swap. Cant wait to see it soon in much newer shape.

Jim has the "fever" and will get that puppy up to high standards in no time!

Dammit Jim (captive_ball). Plans to upgrade the Paragon to 7 digit displays?

#314 8 years ago

No time soon....nothing above 600K so far

#315 8 years ago

Time to invite Phil over and see what kind of score he can post on it.

#316 8 years ago

Sure it would get rolled within the hour he arrives.

#317 8 years ago

Embryon is the only 6 digit game I have rolled so far. So, it got the 7 digit XPin upgrade.

P.S. I'm not a great player. Just love to play!

#318 8 years ago

Phil is in the top 100 Papa players. He put 211 million on my Stern Indy over the weekend only after his 3rd game ever he played on that title. Ugghh....

#319 8 years ago

Recently picked this up. Great game

I played one of those at Expo. After like 30 seconds of watching the ball count bonus add up off my first ball I walked away bored.

#327 8 years ago

Here was another beauty that is gone. This was a good game.

Yea Absolutely stunning too look at. That's all. Went to Papa and was in the big flood. Sad.

CS, you have mad restore skills bro!

I received my Bally Star Trek playfield today. I think I might make it my first project. I want to make sure I'm a few swaps down by the time I get to my EBD and Fathom!

Rob, Something seems different then the CPR. It looks spectacular. What is the difference ?

Not sure what you mean by difference? The playfield received today is a BRONZE from CPR. It has a few small issues, but is tons better than the playfield in the game now!

Have to agree there, I was pumped to play Lost World when I saw it at an arcade, but was under whelmed pretty quickly.....my interest was all but gone after ball three started. Wanted to like it.

Oh, I just never looked at these and did not realize how bad off original playfields had become over time. It is beautiful.

A lot of people say that about Lost World ... But the machine can be set up tough and challenging. The one at the Swedish Open was kicking everyones ass. I think my 400k was one of the better scores on the day.

Not that anyone here cares, but I'm going to be changing my web site host soon. To make sure there is no email issues, I have decided to retire my [email protected] email account.

My new email will be [email protected]

Love it!

Thanks,

Rob

Love the new email name

Be aware that if placed upside down the xenon slingshot airlocks may not always work as intended.

Some changes in the main Classic Bally wall lineup... I reluctantly sold the Embryon today, but circumstances are what they are and I had to let her go. Fireball II took it's place in the lineup for now.

Still a fantastic lineup!

New plan: Get your friend with the Medusa to fall in love with your Fireball II, and then casually mention that I have a super nice one that I'll trade him.

If you can't have them all, I can understand letting Embryon go. It's a BIG machine.

#349 8 years ago

I woulda bought the Embryon!

I got a shipment of Classics yesterday, finally arrived from Boston.

Viking
Star Trek (x2) one for me, one for my buddy
Mystic
Skateball
Amazing Spider Man (Gottlieb, of course..)
Plus Freedom Em and Pinbot (the last Sys11 i needed for the full set of sys11s. Nice!)

The Star Trek has a new CPR playfield and plastics. I love a new PF on a classic machine!
