I think Stern ought to remake Iron Maiden.

With the original music...I'm in!
I have a Catacomb and it isn't leaving. Really challenging game. Bagatelle is frantically awesome.
Just found a Star Gazer. Fun. Looking forward to a much needed playfield swap, thanks to Greatwich John.
Wouldn't mind owning Lightning for a while.
Honourable Mention: Hot Hand. Surprised how much fun this game is.
Dishonourable Mention: Seawitch. Owned one and couldn't stand the claustrophobic playfield. Crap, imho.
Catacomb is super fun and challenging when you take time to apreciate it but
my number one is F2K. I like very much the progressive scoring spinners and the sounds.
A real challenge to get all letters for multiball, it keep me working hard all the time.
I'm trying to find a Nine Ball, if someone have one for sale let me know !!
Seawitch! Played it along with about 6 other sterns in a Dream Machine arcade back in the day.~SpOoKy
Big Game's getting some love in the poll but not in the posts, first game I ever owned and 25 years later still enjoy playing one.
Answering to your poll is hard
I started with Big Game, dreamed about Quicksilver. Found it .. Dreamed about Nine ball ..Found it..
Dreamed about Stargazer .. found it.
This is endless.
The answer to "if you could have ony one" ... is "the model i don't own "
At this moment : Catacomb !
@Ottogd : you're a lucky man
Nineball and it just happens to be the one I own (fancy that). Cheetah comes in second for me. I've played them all extensively, very good copies too and that's my take.
Feel free to vote for whatever pins you like best.
Sorry wish polls could be longer than nine options.
OK. Nine Ball….but only if I had tools and spare parts, otherwise I’d be happy for a few weeks. The drop targets get a good thrashing during game play. Else, Star Gazer has great game play and probably would not self-destruct so quickly.

Stargazer. Love the spinner and drop locations and it does have a great backglass
I like Catacomb as well. Different rules but a great looking game.
I know this is a very old topic, but I'm curious if anyone else has any thoughts on this. Locally, I have found a Seawitch, Star Gazer, and Catacomb. I am leaning towards the Catacomb because of it's unique gameplay and that it has a 2 and 3 ball multiball.
Catacomb is usually a love it or hate it game. I’m not a huge fan of the backbox game.
Seawitch and Stargazer are both great.
I played Catacomb tonight and really liked the bagatelle game. I can see how some people might think it slows gameplay, but after reading about how it affects scoring, it seemed a lot more interesting. Star Gazer and Seawitch are also great, but I'm trying to add something different to the collection. I guess I really need to just get Catacomb and one of Star Gazer or Seawitch.
Iron Maiden, followed by Orbitor one. There two best, even when you compare them to what there selling today.
John
Thought I had decided Quicksilver was the only classic stern I would give a spot up for in the collection. I recently found a Seawitch and took the opportunity to restore my blown out Quicksilver bonus area. I really was pleasantly surprised by Seawitch and now have to find a way to keep both. I can't wait to have Quicksilver back to have them next to each other! Now to find that elusive Iron Maiden...

If you are passing on a Stargazer, please send me the information.

Quoted from Dbaum88:Why is Stingray not on this list?
I choose Stingray or Meteor. Both great games.
Wish I had my Stingray back. Was my first machine and was stupid to let it go. That would have been my vote.

Yeah I remember that game. Sorry to hear you sold it.

That's the one! It (and you) started me off right! I guess it's changed hands at least twice since I sold it, and at least two of them were first time pin owners as well...so that's pretty cool!

Buy them all and sell me the Star Gazer. .
I don’t think I’ll ever find my top 2, Quicksilver and Star Gazer. But I was really happy to cross Big Game off my wish list and bring it home today. I enjoyed owning Meteor for about 18 months, but I don’t miss it.

Don't give up.....their out there
Agreed, they are out there for sure.
My Quicksilver was purchased last summer from a very cool Pinhead who had never even heard of Pinside! It was in his basement arcade for at least 15 years. When he finally posted the machine on Kijiji I somehow managed to respond first.
It's a great game but to be honest, my 1977 Stern "Pinball" is just a bit more fun. So if I had to pick just one, it would be the 1977 Stern Pinball. But I'm partial to chimes and very short ball times
My buddy has an orbiter. I can’t imagine owning that dud unless I had a few dozen machines, like he does.
I haven’t played too many old sterns. I love meteor, Star gazer and stars. Never really liked sea witch or galaxy.
just brought my seawitch home from my ex's place, been playing the hell out of it. still trying to figure out why i put it there instead of home???
Man I have really grown fond of Classic Stern’s. I currently have Split Second, Lightning and Flight 2000. All with speech and all with 3 ball Multiball. I really enjoy these games and it’s hard to just choose one but for now I’d go with Lightning.
