I hijacked someone else's post that didn't show up.
I'm guessing this is what they were going to ask:

Curious, if a company was willing to do a reproduction run of a classic machine from the 80's, which machine would you pick? Has to be 80's decade (No, Funhouse doesn't count).

My vote would be for Centaur. I originally thought Pinbot first (since I own and love that game), but I think there are plenty of them floating around, and Jackbot was sort of a reproduction run for that game. I know this would never happen, the profit margins aren't there, this is just for fun.

Does King Kong (Jan 1990) count?
The others ie Fathom etc I hope to find originals of someday.

Bad Cats (1989)
Taxi
Blackhole
Time Machine (DE)

If they can't be made for less than $4000 no one will buy I don't think.

Volcano. Keep it widebody, add a few more features, better sounds, and saturate with red, yellow, and orange LEDs. Possibly add a ramp on left side. Also, eliminate big caveman above flippers and give us raquel welch in 1 million BC. A few dinosaurs wouldn't hurt either.Pop bumpers could be in the shape of volcanos.

Eight Ball deLuxe.

Stop talking and start chalking.

flash gordon or firepower

Elvira and the party monsters, too expensive as-is, Cassandra Peterson would probably be on board.

Centaur

I forgot Party Monsters was 89... Good call.

I would love Banzai Run. A more reliable model would be great. Not a lot of them out there. Of course I know there would be very little market for that machine.
OR a very reliable generic system 11 platform. A base kit, then transfer the play field and basics components.

BK2K for all the people that don't have a nice one. I don't care if I lose half the value on mine, but this is a kick-ass game that everyone should have.

Fathom, Centaur, EBD for me... In that order.

I like Cosmic Gunfight too. Rare game that you don't see to often. The cosmic ball at the end is pretty cool.

Seawitch
Star Gazer
Fathom
Centaur
EBD
Flash Gordon
Spectrum

I love me some EATPM, but it's almost cheating at 1989. For a truly 80s game I'm with the OP, Centaur would be awesome.

Fathom — with sounds and voices by Suzanne Ciani

Centuar
BK2000
Stargazer
Quicksilver
Orbitor 1

Nib hs would be cool

Let's be honest here, if they remade Hardbody and Raven, and started selling them at $200.00 apiece. There would be plenty of owners super pissed off because their HUO Hardbody might not be worth as much or their HEP restored Raven might not get $2,500 on pinside

Yes, great game. Excellent art! My friend has one...and I hope to get it someday...

I'll second Banzai Run and toss in Earthshaker since we don't have a repro'd playfield for it.

F-14, the only pin I have regrets getting rid of.

#27 5 years ago

Forgot about that one! That would be a great candidate.

Jungle Lord- Used to play it at a local pool hall with friends when I was really young. It gave me the bug and I still love it!

are we talking just reissues or remade with improvements?

You're half right...

Sorcerer with a decent clearcoat. Bye bye ball swirls.

I was thinking reproduction, same machine just NIB.

black knight
haunted house
firepower

1981 Atari Neutron Star. Only one was made. Playing it on PinMAME is quite enjoyable so a real one would be a lot better.

Haunted House
BK
Fathom

Any of those three with modern day guts would be fantastic.

#37 5 years ago

1988 Banzai Run.

#38 5 years ago

My first thought was Black Knight 2000, but then after thinking about it, I decided that the machine that would benefit the most would be Haunted House.

#39 5 years ago

I love you Flash but we only have fourteen hours to save Earth.

#40 5 years ago

It would be a toss up between HH & BH but I would probably get BH.

#41 5 years ago

Spirit. Only 1000 or so made most went to Europe. Very fun, very good looking and very rare. If around 4000 ish I think a thousand unit run is possible. Not to many would pay more than say 4400 for one IMO.

#42 5 years ago

Space Invaders. But improved! Aliens on the PF! The Alien's mouth opens and a smaller mouth grabs the ball!

Think of it, then the sequel would be an Alien vs. Predator pin!

BK2K don't seem to find many around here, did most of them get trashed

making a RAVEN-R would drop its value though.
