if Sound board tests is normal, does that mean components are good?

Firepower has sporadic no sound when power up, but if power cycle it usually comes back.
On the sound board the test button always produces all the sounds( even when there are none in game)
Switched out a new mpu/cpu - same problem
New power board as well.

Curious if replacing the sb
caps is even worth it? or look back to connectors and headers

If there are significant differences with sound problems at power up vs. game on for a time, this is a possible indication of a capacitor problem. If the connectors haven't been repinned, I'd do it at this time as well, because even if they are not related to the immediate problem, this will make the game overall more reliable in the long haul.
